And then there were five.
The Saints agreed to terms with Ohio State cornerback Michael Jenkins late Sunday night on a five-year contract.
“We’re glad to have agreed to this five-year deal with Malcolm and look forward
to seeing him at practice with his teammates tomorrow,” Saints GM Mickey Loomis said in a statement released by the team.
“He is an intelligent young man and given what we saw from him on the field
during the offseason, I’m confident that he will get up to speed sooner rather
than later,” Loomis concluded.
With Jenkins under contract, only five first-round picks remain unsigned: Bengals T Andre Smith, Jaguars T Eugene Monroe, Packers DT B.J. Raji, 49ers WR Michael Crabtree, and Bills DE Aaron Maybin.
The logjam could take a while more to break because last four picks listed above were taken in succession.
Randall Gay is so happy to hear this.
another jersey boy signed sealed & delivered, we have a lot of talent in the garden state
None of the picks left yet to sign are going to have successful careers. No HOF out the bunch. Maybe a combined 5 or 6 All-Star seasons. 3 DUI’s.
Defense is still horrid.
Horrid Dan? I think if they can stop at least one more 4th quarter drive per game we will have 10 wins easy.
