The Falcons auditioned punt returners to replace injured WR Harry Douglas on Saturday.

LB Mike Peterson is adding experience, leadership and a willingness to speak his mind to the Falcons defense. 

QB Matt Ryan led the Falcons offense to two touchdowns during 11-on-11 drills at Saturday’s practice.

The injury to S William Moore all but guarantees that Thomas DeCoud will be the Falcons’ starting strong safety.

The Panthers limited their injury risks during their scrimmage by sitting out DE Julius Peppers and wide receivers Muhsin Muhammed and Steve Smith in addition to players already dealing with aches and pains.

RB Reggie Bush was also missing from the scrimmage, but Saints coach Sean Payton said not to read too much into it.

The Saints defense forced four turnovers during the scrimmage and were credited with four sacks as well.

Saints coaches and Brees are all feeling bullish about the chances of a breakthrough for WR Robert Meachem.

Not many running backs come back from two torn patellar tendons, but Buccaneers RB Cadillac Williams isn’t going to give up.

Weather caused the cancellation of the Buccaneers’ second practice on Saturday, which means they’ll be off until Monday morning.
