Wade backtracks from statements

We’re noticing a trend with Bobby Wade lately.

Step 1: Insert foot into mouth while near a microphone.

Step 2: Realize foot was inserted, and engage in damage control.

Wade backtracked Sunday from his recent statement that Tarvaris Jackson knows he’s going to be the Vikings quarterback.

Wade reportedly “made it clear” he didn’t mean to imply anything about the quarterback situation, and the Minneapolis Star-Tribune makes such a convincing case that we believe him.

It sounds like he was the victim of unfortunate wording.

“Both T. Jack and Sage [Rosenfels] are capable of leading this team to
the Super Bowl and that is why it will remain a healthy competition
until Brad Childress names the starter,” Wade said.  “I have no clue at this point
who it will be.”

Is easy to believe Wade because its not logical that Childress would have already made up his mind.

And even if he did, Rosenfels seems like the more likely pick, judging from the events of training camp and the coverage surrounding the Vikings.

Wasn’t the competition basically canned last year? Tarvaris Jackson is Brad Chidress’ guy. Baldy wants to see him succeed, otherwise the move up in the draft is an indictment on him. Wade is just giving the typical fire control backtrack. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Jackson take the field again week one, and be out before the bye. Rosenfels was brought in for insurance, just like Gus Frerotte. Neither of these two guys will be able to get it done when the Vikings need it most. I wouldn’t be dissapointed if they brought in a veteran like the Saints Mark Brunell. He’s old, but he limits mistakes and wouldn’t have to do too much in this simple offense.

I think we’re all aware of T-Jack’s excellence.

Florio, Childress will pick Jackson and everyone knows it because Jackson is Childress’s guy. It has nothing to do with logical.

Wonder if Jackson will have a Vince Young breakdown if he doesn’t get the start.

I’m sure we all realize that at some point we’ll see #4 getting the starting job………Booty that is…..who else did you think I ment?

Florio, what the hell are you talking about?
The times that Jackson has been in camp, he has been the clear superior, at least for now.
Take it from someone who has actually been there, and not someone who is just pulling random stuff out his ass. Rosenfels is an interception machine thus far.

They need to cut this kid already. He is a clown.

  12. empty13 says: Aug 10, 2009 9:55 AM

or is that cause the wideouts already picked their favorite?

hmm, maybe Gregg should tell us who the hell bobby wade is?
its not like anyone besides vikings fans know anyone on the team beside adrian peterson.

Wade actually said that Sage was a pussy and that Urlacher told him that he thought T-Jack could beat up Cutler (and then give him a real haircut).

Some key off-season questions for the Vikes:
    1. An herb or a turd?
(Percy takes the herb every time, Chilly the turd).
    2. More chronic fumblitis?
    Bobby or Adrianne?
    (Adrianne’s seems to be worsening)
    3. Worse Bears re-tread cast-off WR?
The overpriced 1-route wonder with a fear of mid-field?
Or the bench-riding drama-gossip-b1tch with diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain?
Wade wins this one, “hands” down…until he fumbles it, or simply gets cut.
    Both inevitabilities.

viking stories here are just for the comedic value.
Everyday there is something laughable that happens to the vikings.

No way do they cut him, not this year at least. The Viking management likes to figure out what everyone thinks he should do, and then do the exact opposite. Why else would Chilly still have a job when even fairweather Viking fans who don’t even give a damn about their team are calling for his head?

Jon Gruden coaching the Vikes in 2010.

Wade should start breast-feeding and start life over.
