Last year’s Sporting News Comeback Player of the Year will start his 2009 season with a little adversity.
Bucs wideout Antonio Bryant will miss the next 3-4 weeks because of a torn meniscus that will require surgery. That will knock him out of the entire preseason, but Bucs coach Raheem Morris expects Bryant to be ready for Week One against Dallas.
“It’s kind of been lingering with him so we decided to get in there and fix it up,” Morris said.
Bryant doesn’t have a long history of injuries, but the loss is painful because he’s trying to learn a new system with new quarterbacks. His absence also exposes the lack of depth on at receiver on Tampa’s roster.
With Michael Clayton unlikely to play in Tampa’s preseason opener, the Bucs’ starting wide receiver group will likely be Brian Clark and Maurice Stovall.
Whoever wins Tampa’s starting quarterback job is going to have their work cut out for them.
3-13 season coming up for the Bucs.
And probably a lot of balls thrown to Cook, Ward and Winslow.
I mean, it’s not like the don’t have any guys who can catch the ball.
“Bucs coach Raheem Morris”
Is that Radio Raheem?
Scratch this guy off my FF draft board
1 year wonder
With all the bad injury news flying around the league, I guess I can stomach this. As long as he’s back in time for the regular season.
. . . have HIS work cut out for HIM.
The starting quarterback will be one person. He will be a “he,” and not a “they.”
Your writing is good. Much better than Aaron Wilson. But keep it tight.
it could possibly work out for the coaches and a few unknown players. The coaches seem to not be able to clearly evaluate Sammy Stroughter, Cortez Hankton, Kelly Campbell and Dexter Jackson. This could be their one and only chance to impress coaches to make the team.
He better be ready to play cause if if not the Bucs are done. He is a vital part of the offense. There’s no depth after him.
Isn’t he like 5,000 years old?
This is the home for Vick!
