Philadelphia’s bad luck training camp may have taken another unfortunate turn Monday morning,
Defensive end Trent Cole and backup quarterback Kevin Kolb were carted off the practice field with injuries, although early signs may indicate the injuries aren’t too serious.
Kolb limped off the field before getting his left knee or leg worked on and taken away. He was able to walk into the Eagles facility under his own power, which is a good sign.
Kolb spent earlier portions of the morning scrambing, doing his best “Mike Vick” impersonation, according to Asante Samuel.
Cole had trainers look at his right forearm or wrist before leaving the field.
The Eagles have already lost LB Stewart Bradley and TE Cornelius Ingram to ACL injuries, and G Shawn Andrews has been unable to practice.
Philly fans did receive some good news, however, Monday. DeSean Jackson was back at practice only a few days after hyperextending his knee.
UPDATE: Cole has a sprained left shoulder, and Kolb has a sprained left knee. For now. Kolb’s injury is “the more serious of the two” and will require an MRI. Stay tuned.
Nuts! is there indian burial ground under the practice field?
Don’t worry Eagles fans, I am sure you can find another Detmer brother to replace McNabb when he goes down this season/you all call for his head.
Headline is a little extreme. They weren’t exactly ‘carted off’.
This is getting ridiculous. Coming from a Miami fan, the Eagles are getting decimated. They better get that Oline healthy too.
Good title, boring non story..Cole will be able to play with a cast on, even if it was serious. Like every other LB and lineman..
Wow, talk about a jynx!!!! “Eagles will be the Super Bowl Favorites,” says 99% of the sports writers…..until injuries…..
I wouldn’t hold training camp in iraq next year
The Eagles are creating an excuse (that they were dealing with too many injuries) for why they will lose to The Falcons in the title game…
“I feel this year we have the best roster in the league. That’s assuming everyone is healthy and standing at the end. You can only make a statement like that on the first day of training camp. After that, anything can happen.”
Oops.
Big Blue and all you other haters and 2nd tier team lovers can take your prayers somewhere else than PFT……….The Eagles will be healthy and winning all season (and the whole post season) just as predicted……..And Big Blue have fun watching Eli “a fake Manning” take any good players away from your team he can with his huge salary.
Over 100 mil for someone I wouldnt trade Kolb for AHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eli=’s Trash with perfume sprayed on it.
That means a lot coming from you BleedGreen99709, because you certainly know what it takes to build a championship team and you DEFINITELY know what a Super Bowl QB is made of.
Oh Wait, you mean choking in the clutch, being a racist, and vomiting in the huddle ISN’T good?
I’ll stick with my Super Bowl MVP and the track record and history of not just the Eagles, but their trashy, irrational, and idiotic fans.
BleedGreen-
Maybe when you finish your 7th grade English homework, you can resume posting. Even for an Eagles fan, you seem dumb.
GOOD MORNING MIKE VICK, THIS IS ANDY RIED…..COUGH SOUND…….WANT TO BE THE 2ND BLACK QB TO WIN A SUPERBOWL??? NO? WANT SOME CRYSTAL METH??? OKAY COME TO LEHIGH WHERE MY SONS WILL GET YOU HIGH OR PARKER WILL
The Ghost of Jim Johnson isn’t at complete rest yet.
It has unfinished business with the team for losing all those nfc championship games, which is the reason Johnson became sick.
I was going to ask:
Where’s crookedsteve when you need him?
But then, as if on cue…
Perfect.
Sounds like that injury virus that decimated my Seahawks last year has made it’s way to the left coast.
Eagles have never won anything meaningful and will continue the losing/choking tradition this season.
But then again that kind of goes without saying…
It’s Joe Banner’s curse, saying we had the best roster in football. He needs to stop talking.
Time to bring in Mike Vick!
“The Ghost of Jim Johnson isn’t at complete rest yet.
It has unfinished business with the team for losing all those nfc championship games, which is the reason Johnson became sick.”
You’re a sick freak, and nobody loves you.
@Big Blue
ELI SUCKS!!!!! Just winning a superbowl doesnt make someone a good QB. Remember who beat your beloved Gmen in 2000 -TRENT DILFER. The superbowl the Giants won was purely based on the D-line. And dont call Eli clutch. Clutch quaterbacks shine in the last drive of the game. He threw 2 interceptions to Asante Samuel. If just one of those had been caught, Pats win. Theres a difference between being clutch and being lucky, which he was on David Tyree’s catch also.
Good luck this year without Plaxico and Amani.
BTW since when is McNabb racist?
It only takes one overblown Headline to bring out the ill wishers and Haters. The Eagles will be just fine this season. I hope that all of your teams believe like you do that well suck and look past us because it has worked for you all so well in the past ( last year Big Blue) . All Eagles fans are not rude and ignorant, just like i’m sure your teams have some fans who are not idiots . So don’t paint with such a broad brush. We’ll see your teams during the regular season and then we’ll see what happens then , till then this all means nothing!
that jim johnson comment just makes you sound like a psycho. this a sport…try to remember that.
As for the injuries…every team goes through it at some point or another.
Giants lost Osi last year which was bigger then any player the Eagles have lost this year and were still able to do quite well. So with that said, I don’t see any injury thus far hinfering the Eagles too much. Bradley was big, but even though he was 2nd on the team in tackles, he is for the most part, replaceable.
And Bleedgreen…it’s hard to take you seriously when you make such crazy acqusations.
Don’t worry about the NY giants finances, we’ll be fine.
And to say the love for Eli is based off of one game you would be truly mistaken (proving an Eagles fans ignorance). Eli has been a starter for 4 years, and the Giants have made the playoffs, all four years with two division titles and a Super Bowl. It takes a team to win the Super Bowl, and a team consists of a defense playing well too. Did the D play great aginst the Pats? Of course, they were a GREAT opponent.
Everyone forgets how well he played the entire playoffs (1INT on a dropped ball in the gut). Leading them effortlessly against TB, 2 minute drives against Dallas, and setting them up to win 3 different times vs GB, oh yeah, all on the road. And yes, he was the QB and MVP beating one of the best teams in NFL history. Somehow that always tries to be taken away from him.
Meanwhile, he responds the next year with 22TDs and 10 INTs, proving once again it was no fluke.
As for McNabb – “There’s not that many African-American quarterbacks, so we have to do a little bit extra,” McNabb tells HBO. “Because the percentage of us playing this position, which people didn’t want us to play … is low, so we do a little extra.” – Donovan McNabb.
Yes Donovan, african-americans are defintely not getting a fair shake even though they make up a majority of the leagues players. Just one of MANY exhibits of McNabb’s racism.
Where’s Fred EX!!!!

Your grammar is atrocious and you know nothing about football. Believe me, as a giants fan i wasnt dancing around thinking your season is over, Cole can play with a cast even if it was one of the most severe of injuries, most lineman and LB’s do. You dont hear any complaints from me when Osi was done for the whole season and he is eons better than cole. Nfl salaries dont quite work like that, signing Boley, Canty and Bernard proved it wasn’t ,not to mention he didn’t get 97 million upfront. “HAHAHAHAHA ENJOY HAVING ELI ON YOUR TEAM A FAKE MANNING WHO IS OVER 500 AGAINST THE EAGLES FOR HIS CAREER, HAS NEVER MISSED THE PLAYOFFS , HAS TWO DIVISION TITLES IN 4 YEARS AND A RING , WHILE THE EAGLES JUST KEEP WINNING VS SECOND TIER TEAMS” winning what homie?? and you guys arent quite predicted higher than the Giants either, go check the vegas odds. Let’s not all cry about how they are being decimated in camp, Kolb is not going to see a snap (barring an injury) cole is fine and the eagles always do a good job at replacing LB’s. seriously, are your only rants against Eli? A QB over 20 games over 500 for his career, throws for at least 20 td’s a yr and who has a winning record vs the eagles.
Relax – I was there…they are fine. Both walked off with their own legs, I don’t blame them it was hot as a koala bear out there today.
“According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, quarterback Kevin Kolb will have an MRI later today in Philadelphia to determine the severity of a left knee sprain that forced him from the morning workout. Kolb will also meet with team physician Dr. Peter DeLuca.
“I’m OK. It’s no big deal,” Kolb told the Inquirer. “I got stepped on by one of my linemen.”
Meanwhile, the report indicated that defensive end Trent Cole’s sprained left shoulder, which also forced him out of the practice, is not as serious and that he did not need an MRI.
“I’m all right,” Cole said. “It’s just a bruise.”"
Just simmer down everyone.
Do you even know what racism is? Claiming that african americans are being discriminated against is not racist. I agree with you in the fact that african americans are not discriminated against in the NFL, but claiming that McNabb is racist for making those comments is ridiculous. And you claim Eagles fans are ignorant.
As Merriam Webster defines racism- “hatred or intolerance of another race or other races”
Come on. Please. I know your a Giants fan, but you can still be better than that.
Now for Eli’s playoff run. Congratulations he only threw 1 interception. When you throw the ball as few times as he did (only 12 completions vs. Dallas) its expected that you wouldnt throw a pick.
Or lets look at the Green Bay game. Oh wow 21 for 40 with 0 tds. Great game. Man hes so clutch. Throughout all those playoff games, the D never gave up more than 20 points. Had the Eagles D-fense not faltered against Arizona last year, we would have went on to beat the stealers, whom be had already beaten earlier in the year. Stop making it all about Eli. He is a subpar quarterback who is on a team with a great O-line, D-line and running game. If the giants even had an average quarterback, they would go 13-3 or 14-2 every year and become the NFL’s next dynasty.
As you can see, I’m not saying the Giants team is bad, I just wish that people would finally recognize Eli for what he is- a below average quarterback. I can’t believe that some people actually think he is justified in being the highest annually paid QB in the NFL.

That’s not racism…that’s him stating his motivation. It’s not the brightest thing someone could say, but it’s not racism. Elite African American QBs are far outnumbered their Caucasian counterparts even though a large percentage of players in other positions are African American. Unless you personally are or have been involved in the NFL you don’t know the pushback an African American QB might have encountered, especially decades ago in a time where this country was not as diverse and integrated as we are today. Do you really think that at a time when African Americans weren’t allowed to use the same bathrooms or go to the same schools as caucasians no one would have a problem with putting an African American in the lead position on the offense of a professional football team? McNabb may have not experienced that personally, but he knows better than you do if in fact “people didn’t want us to play” QB.
rocman101 you need to go to grammar and spelling 101, yuck.
I knew I should never have brought up racism on such a forum, mistake on my part, because it would be difficult for me to articulate. However, I will say that I believe McNabb consistently chooses poor words and relies on race as an excuse and a crutch too frequently for his line of work.
As for Eli, saying he is a below-average QB is absolutely insane. You want to say he isn’t elite? Go for it. But below average? Crazy.
You bring up the Dallas game, sure kill the guy for playing within the game and leading his team to victory. 21 for 40 in GB? Don’t mention that it was a wind chill of 35 below and that he set up the team 3 times to win. And completely leave out the Super Bowl, because that game wasn’t important.
During that playoff run he went 79-119, 6TD and 1INT, and a big 4-0. They didnt ask him to do much? That’s 30 attempts per game by my math, pretty heavy for a run first team.
Does a below average QB complete 61% of his passes, throw 21 TD versus 10 INT, and lead his team to a division title in the best division in football?
Sure, he doesn’t put up the gaudy stats like Peyton does. But I wonder what would have happened if Eli was put into a situation where his home games were in a dome, his division sucked, his team spent 2/3 of their salary cap on offense, and his defense was so bad it necessitated throwing for 4 quarters?
You want to say he shouldn’t be #1 in salary, thats fine. He shouldnt – but its economics, and he was just the next QB up for a contract. But to say he is below average? I would expect a Philadelphia fan not to have such stringent standards.

Kid, keep your own grammar in check before you chide others for theirs. Your post was riddled with bad grammar.

Actually, if that was directed towards me, I used poor grammar in my “quotes” making fun of that guy.
thanks though

It’s not about being hard to articulate, it’s about not having a basis. McNabb is right, look at winning percentage compared to all other active qbs in the league, how many times have they been benched and how many times have McNabb?
I enjoyed your first comment, thought it was funny, but then you just went off on the deep end
Big Blue, Please stop attributing a team’s record to its quarterback. The GIANTS were 4-0, not Eli. As I said, any QB in Eli’s position could have easily done as well as him, if not better.
On most plays, the defense has to have 8-9 people in the box just to respect the Giants run game, which in my opinion is the best in the league. This all Eli’s recievers (Except Plax, who would be doubled) single coverage. Add in his O-line, which is also top 5, and he has ridiculous time to throw the ball, plus single coverage, what would you expect? Even a bad qb like eli can complete passes in those situations.
But wait. Take away Plaxico and the double team he takes, and how does Eli fair. I’ll let the end of last season speak for me.
cant we all get along
