If Sunday night’s Hall of Fame game taught us anything, it’s that Kerry Collins doesn’t have to worry about losing his job anytime soon. (Well, and that Al Michaels can pronounce Mr. Florio’s name.)
Now Jeff Fisher just has to figure out what to do with Vince Young.
To that end, Fisher revealed Monday that he might let V.Y. start a preseason game.
“Part of the preseason process is to put people in different situations
and scenarios so it’s not unlikely that Vince wouldn’t have a start,” Fisher said Monday.
“There is a chance that Vince will start a preseason game as we move
forward. And we’ll give Pat [Ramsey] a chance to play a
little earlier in the game.”
Fisher didn’t say what game, but the Tennessean made the logical guess that it might come against Dallas on August 21. That would give Collins a breather, but also allow him to play in the traditional dress rehearsal preseason game the following week. (The one where the veterans actually try their hardest. Almost.)
Fisher also seemed to want to take the pressure off Young, praising his play and his standing on the team.
“We are talking about one preseason game. Vince is our two and Patrick is our three.”
Ramsey is familiar with the offense from his time with coordinator Mike Heimerdinger, and the Titans basically know what they have in him.
The next four weeks are all about figuring out what’s left of Vince Young’s career in Tennessee.
In other words……..Come the 4th preseason game, when we rest the starters, uncle rico can step out of his van, we will set up the tripod, NFL films can set up a camera crew for their biggest busts segment, and esquire can chart his progress as a future hall of famer…….
If Vince Young gets dropped to third string behind Patrick Ramsey, I’ve got a great headline idea: “Ramsey’s the 2nd”

if you are a packer fan, and by “we” you mean the packers. then yes, maybe young starts the 4th pre-season game against the packers, where the pack play the starters the usual first few series, and fisher keeps his starters in for the first series or two of the second half, every year……then yes you are correct.

They should keep Vince on the bench and keep Kerry Collins in at starter. He may be old but he can play QB a little better than Young. Plus he’s lost it, and do you know why? Because he was getting booed off the field BECAUSE HE STUNK!! So they picked up Collins and he took them to the play-offs. Just face the facts, he’s not as good a Titan as he was a Longhorn.

The list can go on but I will spare you all. VY is not a good QB. The fact that he said a good Q has better legs than an arm makes him bad. Big Ben, Eli, Payton, and Brady all have terrible legs and they’re the top tier (that means “the best” if you really are illiterate, bigdog) quarterbacks in the league.
The days of a mobile quarterback are over, this isn’t college. VY can’t, Mcnabb is good, but he can’t, and Vick couldn’t, and won’t. Don’t call me a racist either, they’re mobile quarterbacks per definition.
Vince has the wrong mentality to play NFL football. He want’s to run first and then throw it later. He doesn’t read defense’s and most of his passes are terribly off target. Hell, even on his touchdown pass he looked panicked and rush to throw it. Dude has no poise.
Unless he makes great strides this year, I’ll stick with Kerry.
