What's next for Vince Young?

Amid rumors that Patrick Ramsey might leapfrog the man who still might end up being the 2005 Heisman Trophy winner on the Tennessee Titans depth chart, quarterback Vince Young's career seems to be rapidly disintegrating.

He looked bad on Sunday night, as Gregg Rosenthal pointed out last night while I was polishing the rims of the NBC trailers.  (His possible reward?  Getting a chance to start.)

But we still can't get over the fact that Vince Young recently declared himself to be a future Hall of Famer.  And we're not just saying that because there's a PFTV segment in the hopper regarding that very issue.

But it helps.

    Kordell Stewart, circa 2000's. Yipee...

Florio I agree that Young's comments were stupid and arrogant. However I believe you were asking which quarterback said the same thing. How about Joe Namath?

Confident or arrogant? How about stupid or naive!!

A good question is why race does have to be a part of this lol.... This isnt the last presidential election. If you run a offense like Barack runs America.... i dont think i need to say anymore. Vince will make a possibly good backup. Learn behind Collins then maybe you will one day start again

Why does he insist on reiterating to the whole world that he got a 6 on the Wonderlic test?

If you can't beat out Patrick Ramsey, at least based on potential, you probably don't have much potential.

    maybe UFL hall of fame

2005 heisman winner? that looks more like Vince Young than Reggie Bush. Vince won the trophy that matters

smh @ yall trying to call him a bust after 3 seasons

smh @ yall thinking he is goning to come the nfl and dominate it takes a qb 3 to 4 nfl seasons to see if he is goning to be a bust( everybody can't be tom brady)

smh@yall forgot what he did his rookie year (taking a unknown titans team almost to the playoffs and made the pro bowl.)he didn't have a running game

lanDale was fat that year and arrogant wasn't effective till last year because the weight he loss and the additon of chris johnson.

smh @yall couldn't name a reciever on that team

the defense and the running game carried that team last year.

And wasn't the media saying eli was a bust after 3 years( he is not good to me but he won a superbowl and now the highest paid qb)

vince was going through some things last year he will be alright he might be the quickest person to be called a bust in nfl history this is 4th year but played only 2 seasons and o yeah he has been to the playoffs.

I loved the HoF remark. Super Bowl ring, bust in Canton... he should've just gone all in and said he would also be the first black man to walk on the moon.

People should come off it. He isn't hurting anyone by saying this stuff. Well, maybe himself.

T-Jax is 10X better than this joke of a player in every way and Jackson is still considered one of the worst QBs in the league. Vince is not an NFL QB and never will be, why are people still wasting their breathe talking about him?

    Vince Young 2006 season

    Comp-184
    Att-357
    Comp %-51.5
    Yards-2199
    TD-12
    INT-13
    Fumbles-12

Honestly i hope the best for him. He was fun to watch in college and i thought he would have an outstanding NFL career. Like i mentioned before he needs Collins to mentor him.

deucedime... Vince Young SUCKS as a QB sorry but that's how most of us feel. And the only reason that team got to the playoffs is because of that outstanding defense. Vince Young is junk. He would be a better WR he is fast enough and has moves.

    1) Justin Gage.

    2) Some are calling Darrius Heyward-Bey a bust already.

i never did say he didn't need collins to mentor him and i know his stats were bad but he was getting them wins for instance the game against the texans o and the giants that was vince making plays. and @ chris i said that the denfense won them games.

  18. tian says: August 11, 2009 6:32 AM

If they are letting him run with the 1st team net preseason game, then that means that the coaches think his sub-par performance was partially due to others on the 2nd team roster.

That interception was definitely the wideout's fault. And I did see an outlet pass drop.

So they may want to see him run with the first team to see if his performance improves.

But we still can't get over the fact that....

Who is this "We" you keep refering to? I seriously doubt more than yourself is involved in most of these stories, or some would have been written vastly differently ( or not at all). Admit it- "We" sounds better than "I can't get over....".

Odds for next black QB to win Superbowl:

    Donovan McNabb- 2:1
    Tarvaris Jackson- 3:1
    Josh Freeman- 4:1
    David Garrard- 6:1
    Jason Campbel-l 12:1
    Jamarcus Russell- 20:1
    Seneca Wallace- 32:1
Vince Young- Every black QB who exists or will exist:1

Enough, writer like yourself need to relook at your story and asks if what you are writing is fair. I believe you are off base, and I wonder if could not last a day in the NFL playing quarterback. If so congratulation, if not keep your writing to yourself. You must remember, Young had a winning record before he was replaced as the starting quarterback, plus the team was winning. True, the team responsed to Collin better and the team went farther in the playoff, but Young is still NFL quarterback who would start for another team in heart beat if Tennessee let him go. Young is a athletic QB in a pocket system, give him a break, its the offensive systems he is playing in. Would you like to be criticize if you was in the same situation. I believe you would not like the criticizing as a writer within for your organization? Think about it and maybe you would change your thoughts and comments about Young.
