Jon Runyan gets clearance to run

Tackle Jon Runyan, a grizzled veteran who has started every game the Eagles have played since 2000, has received clearance to run on his surgically-repaired knee, according to Sal Paolantonio of ESPN.

“I’m cleared to do everything, except hit people,” Runyan told Paolantonio. “And I’ll be able to do that in about two weeks.”

Eagles coach Andy Reid recently left the door open for a potential Runyan return. The fact that the chronically injured Shawn Andrews has moved from right guard to right tackle could make that door swing a little wider.
