Though a final decision has yet to be made, we’re told that the Texans currently believe that rookie linebacker Brian Cushing will miss roughly ten days due to a knee that began bothering him on Tuesday.
Cushing, the fifteenth overall pick in the draft, underwent an MRI Tuesday night after complaining of soreness in the knee.
He won’t play in the team’s preseason opener, and his availability for the second preseason contest remains in doubt.
UPDATE: John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that Cushing has a sprained MCL, and that he should be 100 percent for the regular-season opener.

Cushing is a solid and tough LB but I don’t think he’s going to last that long in the NFL. The guy gets hurt more than Jessica Simpson. Think about that one.
Good to hear. I’m not a Texan fan, but I hate it when any player gets hurt prior to the season.
