Return of the preseason power rankings

By popular demand (OK, actually no one asked for them . . . not a single person), we’ve brought back the Preseason Power Rankings.

This year, Gregg Rosenthal and I will be sharing the load, which means that I’ll initially be doing half of them but that I’ll eventually claim to be too busy, and that I’ll then foist the balance of my allotment onto Rosenthal.  Or Tom Curran.  Or Aaron Wilson.  Or Evan Silva.  Or Florio Jr.

No. 32 is posted.  As to No. 31, Rosenthal is on the clock.

Giid call Florio, it’s amazing the talking heads don’t seem to grasp that last year’s record doesn’t mean %^$# this year. Especially when half the roster was turned over. The treat the Lions as if they will never win another game, abd when the Pats went 16-0 they slobbered all over them acting as if they’d never lose another game.
If only you could infiltrate a major media outlet and slowly legitimize what you do…that’ll show ‘em.

Still no ratings on posts as asked by a plethora but you found the time to include this dribble. Which is wrong on the first try.
The Raiders are at home at 32. It represents hardcore. How hardcore can you be then to be tied to another running back that killed his wife\exwife and a waiter and got away with it?
Always loved the way Davis said “Marcus” or “Macus”
Black hole, that’s where they’re headed.

    I’m here for the “rumors”.
    Not for your “insight”.
Your “opinions” mean as much as ours and NOTHING more.
Stick to what you hear, not what you think you know.
    Rebuttal?….So what… ZZZzzzz.

Hopefully by the time you reach the end Tarvaris will have been named starter and you can just throw the Vikings in the #1 slot without hesitation.

Okay Florio, but at the end the wins and losses better be equal!

Mike, will you please post the preseason power rankings?
    Thanks.

Way off on #32 Mike. It should’ve been the eagles, redskins or cowgirls, correction, cowboys.

    Bring it on.
    Meaningless, but good reading.

Yeahh.. I don’t really think you guys should bother. You might follow the news of all teams very well but you don’t actually break out game film and have a good picture of every team. Stick to scoops and not predictions. Please?

  12. misterj says: Aug 13, 2009 2:22 AM

    Also, what happened to Sundquist?

  13. footballnut says: Aug 13, 2009 8:22 AM

Wow…these Power Rankings are just like taxes.
No one asks for them, but we still end up getting them.
They cause the idiots to come out of the woodwork and claim how great they are.
And they are guaranteed to happen just like death.
    Thanks Florio…

    Florio,
PFT is the TMZ of the NFL. You are a wanna-be Harvey Levin. Stick with the gossip and headline-grabbing scoop. Thats what you do. Period. Don’t bother with performance predictions or fundamentals…leave that for real sports journalists.

I’m going with the Raiders or Rams at 32. I think the Lions are going to be better than most anyone expects.

ESPN released their preseason power rankings almost 2 weeks ago.
What are you hiding Florio? Why did you wait so long to release yours?
