Shockey and Twitter might not be a good combination

Not long ago, Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey used Twitter to sound off on former teammate Kevin Houser, who allegedly recruited Shockey and others to dump money into an investment opportunity that initially failed miserably.

Shockey is at it again, calling out former NFL offensive lineman Ross Verba for reasons that aren't currently known.

Says Shockey:  "everyone watch out for former nfl player ROSS VERBA and jonathon williams they are cons... Watch out they are bad people."

We'll be monitoring Shockey's verified Twitter page for specifics as to why Verba is, in Shockey's view a "con."  And for anything else intriguing (and potentially defamatory) that Shockey might have to say.

I hope Jeremy is OK. I would hate to see anything bad happen to such a classy guy.

Jeremy, whatever you do... drink more water, man. We don't want you to become "dehydrated" again.

Not a good combination? This has the makings of a terrific combination. Maybe he will get into gay porn like another TE from Washington.

However... Twitter, Shockey, and vodka are a GREAT combination.

In all seriousness, its obvious this guys doesnt like anybody, but the real question is...Does anyone like Jeremy Shockey besides.......um....Jeremy Shockey?

This is one of those guys that probably wouldnt surprise anyone if he went "Barrett Robbins" on everybody.

Ross Verba a couple years ago did a Big Play Ray Buchanan and wrote some bad checks. Maybe Ross and this other dude be partakin' in this type of activity (once again for Ross).

Jeremy Shockey is one of the last great American warriors. Have you seen that Great American tat up close and in person? Have you heard him up close and personal on the field displaying his passion? Have you heard his views on the way the game has changed and what he feels is his duty to the game and his country?

There is really no difficulty at all in discussing the merits of another man's opinions without even knowing and confronting the source about which you speak. Monitor his twitter account? Sounds like an excellent disguise of an exceptional exercise in expanding your ignorance.

Because he's one of those North Jersey guys with the tanning-salon tan and the way too gelled spiked hair? He also wears hot pink shirts with the top 3 buttons undone, and plenty of jesus chains.

    I.e. - he's a big queen.

I am waiting for the first lawsuit for slander (or libel, I don't know, I'm not a lawyer) from twitter.

    @throwupaloogie
Why do you try to sound so erudite, yet come off sounding so imbecilic. "Sounds like an excellent disguise of an exceptional exercise in expanding your ignorance." That is one of the most dumbass, unintelligible statements you have made to date. Trying to sound smart does not make you smart. Your ignorance is expanding with each statement you make. I smell a fraud.

My how the mighty have fallen.

Unfortunately for Shockey and the Saints, it takes a "nasty tweet" for people to think he's a badass.

I remeber the days it used to be because of his play on the field.

  19. empty13 says: August 13, 2009 10:43 AM

    yes verba has a reputation.

of course shockey has his own rep.

    they deserve each other.

Shockey and catching touchdowns might not be a good combination..

  21. CoughlinUpALoogie says: August 13, 2009 11:35 AM

It would appear that I sparked another half-way intelligent response from the forum. But alas, another swing and a miss (*ptooie*).

I applaud the undeniably honorable attempt as "erudite" flowed within the stream but was quickly clogged with a "dumbass" and am still left to surmise that monitoring people's words, including my own, can be just as unintelligible as this response; hence, my objection to placing Jeremy Shockey’s twitter account on a Ready-To-Do-List. I'm just saying is all...how can you not see the hypocrisy of scrutinizing another man’s words when your own have fallen and at any given moment may fall short to the same higher moral convention of conduct you assume to abide by?

  22. Baseball First says: August 13, 2009 12:33 PM

    Loogie,
I would not use half-way intelligent to explain anything you state. If there was another swing and miss, then why are you responding to what was said? You seem to like spitting (ptooie). You exhibit all the classic signs of someone unnerved by others viewpoints differing from yours. You claim monitoring people's words is as unintelligible as a response. Isn't monitoring people's words the intent of blogs? You fault all of us for not seeing the hypocrisy of scrutinizing another man's words. That is exactly what you do, too, but seem to think an exception exists in your case. You talk about higher moral convention, yet bring up racism in nearly every thread you write. I still smell a phony. Now, I see a hypocrite, too.
