As the first full weekend of preseason action approaches, word has emerged that the man whose 2008 season ended in the first quarter of the first real game will be back in the lineup.
According to the Boston Herald, quarterback Tom Brady will be starting for the Patriots against the Eagles on Thursday night.
Brady didn’t play during the 2008 preseason, due to an unspecified foot/ankle injury.
It’ll be fun to watch Brady come back and play against the Birds. We always seem to get games in against the Pats in the preseason.
Hopefully this will be the first and last matchup of the season for both teams!
If it’s in the Herald it’s probably not true. I’ll believe it when I see it.
Its the herald and its ‘sources’ as usual. Wont be surprised of belichick tries to purposefully tweak the herald now by not starting brady….
Brady didn’t play in the 2008 preseason because the pats treat him like the chargers treat LT – too valuable a piece of their puzzle to have playing in the preseason, and seasoned enough not to need the reps
I love Brady. I would never steal $8,000 planters sitting next to his trash cans at his condo…
Dude was AWESOME on Entourage though. I’ve always respected him a hell of a lot, but I think I might now be developing an official man-crush.
As long as he loses to Peyton in the AFC Championship game, or Kurt in the SuperBowl, I’m on board.
(Seriously though, that guy is all heart. Probably the most mentally strong athlete in history. And, Giselle cooks! I heard she likes chocolate.)
“Brady didn’t play during the 2008 preseason, due to an unspecified foot/ankle injury.”
Classic!
Jackal,
I think you’re thinking of Baltimore as the team the Eagles always play in the pre-season. Teams schedule pre-season games against near-by teams to cut down on travel expenses, so NE is in the mix, but we play the Jets a lot more than the Pats.
The one and only reason why I’ll be tuning into the scrimmage tonight.
Jackal, yeah they always seem to start the pre season against one another and the Pats always seem to close the pre season against the Gents.
I’m sure it has to do with the regional logistics and unlikely hood of them facing one another in the season other than every four years.
I only see Brady in for one maybe two series. Same with McNabb.
As the Masshole circle jerk begins!
I think NE-Eagles preseason games are great, because they’re two of the best teams at creating depth.
Watching the 2nd string for both of these teams is just as exciting as watching the 1st string of other teams.
