NFC East training camp one-liners

After a sluggish Tuesday practice, Cowboys coach Wade Phillips yelled at his players, reinforcing the image of a tougher training camp this season.

Cowboys CB Orlando Scandrick has a shot to gain some ground in the battle for a starting cornerback spot on Thursday night.

WR Sam Hurd is winning praise from Cowboys teammates for his play at camp.

Cowboys QB Stephen McGee is hoping he’s able to get into a rhythm Thursday night after spending most of camp waiting long stretches for chances on the field.

The Giants have been practicing a five-man defensive front and DE Justin Tuck likes it.

RB Ahmad Bradshaw is champing at the bit to join RB Brandon Jacobs as a leading part of the Giants’ rushing attack.

Rookie CB Stoney Woodson has caught the eye of Giants coach Tom Coughlin.

WR Hakeem Nicks returned to Giants practice but WR Mario Manningham took his place on the sidelines with a leg injury.

Eagles DE Chris Clemons may be on the verge of earning a big rise in playing time.

The Eagles may be leaving training camp with more questions than they had when it started.

Newly signed Eagles QB Adam DiMichele may get some playing time in the fourth quarter.

With the offensive line in flux, Eagles QB Donovan McNabb will need to lean heavily on his wide receivers.

Redskins QB Jason Campbell downplayed the offense’s struggles and said they “haven’t had a chance to get the reps we need together right now.”

Thursday night’s preseason opener will provide Redskins T Chris Samuels with a big test in his recovery from a triceps injury.

The Redskins will be watching to see how DE/LB Brian Orakpo responds to making reads on first and second down in his first preseason outing.

All four Redskins quarterbacks will play on Thursday night, but coach Jim Zorn wouldn’t reveal any more than that.

a 5-1-5 defensive front with Osi, Tuck, Canty, Kiwi, Bernard, Alford, Robbins, Cofield to choose from? Holy crap! There won’t be enough time for the QB to crap his pants. I can smell some turnovers with Webster, Ross, Phillips, Johnson, and Thomas roaming the secondary.

The only thing I can see Donovan leaning on this year is… CRUTCHES after the Giants pass rush gets done with him. Go Giants.

What exactly needs to be proofread in that statement?….It’s a pretty sound sentence. But maybe you’re seeing something that I do, as in, not there.
Now that Eli has that big contract he can stop worrying about trying so hard and just go back to sucking like he’s used to. The Giants are poised for a much less stellar year than everyone likes to imagine.

I can’t wait to NOT hear from these frontrunner NYG fans for the rest of the season after the Giants go 0-4.
They can go back to their fake tans, popped shirt collars and greased-up hair.
