Rumors fly of Vick to Buffalo

We’ve been receiving e-mails all day about new rumors that Mike Vick will sign with the Bills.

The possibility intrigues us, because the Bills were the first team that we suggested folks should be watching as Vick re-enters the league.

There’s still no formal report or acknowledgment that Vick is Buffalo bound, but the guys at KSK have posted something about it.

We have no idea whether Buffalo will be Vick’s next NFL destination, but given the reasoning owner Ralph Wilson applied to the decision to sign Terrell Owens, Vick can’t be written off as a candidate to become the next Bill.

G.M. Russ Brandon previously said that the Bills aren’t interested, but with the time-honored “at this time” qualifier.

UPDATE:  Steve Wyche of NFL.com has tweeted that “[s]everal sources” have denied the Vick-to-Buffalo rumors.  “Nothing doing as of now,” Wyche said.

Mike…. you’re going to let this guy get away with ripping you? NBC has really turned you into a pu$$y!!

  3. FireJerryJones says: Aug 13, 2009 2:44 PM

    Why not the DAWG POUND?

  4. DildoBaggins says: Aug 13, 2009 2:45 PM

Florio is having his own version of 32 teams in 32 days with Vick.

  5. Beastie Bills says: Aug 13, 2009 2:45 PM

    I doubt it.
Anyway, how about confirming that Roscoe Parrish to Chicago rumor, Florio?

  6. Big Stretch says: Aug 13, 2009 2:45 PM

i was gonna say something, but then i remebered that this is the rumor mill, so yeah nevermind keep dreaming things up Florio, so far u have him going just about everywhere sooner or later you will be able to post that you were “right”

  7. smiley says: Aug 13, 2009 2:47 PM

Here we go…AGAIN!! Right now the Bills fans are calling headquarters and complaining.

  8. ducej11 says: Aug 13, 2009 2:47 PM

The bills coaching staff will not know what to do. The bills have had Roscoe Parrish for the last few years and can not find a way to get him the ball in space on offense. They do not have the “outside the box” thinking to properly utilize a player like Vick.
But, on a brighter note, if it’s a 2 year deal, next years coaching staff hopefully will. Because we all know it wont be Jauron.

  9. Kevin from Philly says: Aug 13, 2009 2:47 PM

Well, of course you’re intrigued – this might be your first correct call in months.

  10. krookedsteve says: Aug 13, 2009 2:49 PM

for all of u asking your self “Why are there so many injuries at the Eagles camp?” I have the answer. its karma. Andy Reid is probbaly the worst person in the history of humanity.

  11. PhillyHouse says: Aug 13, 2009 2:49 PM

Vick has gotta be better than Gibril Hamdan, right now. He’s not too far from Ryan Fitzpatrick, either. Vick won’t start in front of Edwards, though.

  12. Pastabelly says: Aug 13, 2009 2:51 PM

If they love T.O. (and they do), they will give the keys to the city to Vick.

  13. MrJumpman23 says: Aug 13, 2009 2:52 PM

I hope Vick finds a team really soon.. Once Vick finds a team, he will make all of his haters pay. All this PETA crap and animal rights bs, is creating a huge chip on his shoulder.. If you believe Vick shouldn’t be allowed to play again in the NFL, you should kill yourself..

  14. allday7776 says: Aug 13, 2009 2:52 PM

I still say he will be a Redskin. The O-Line is shaky at best in DC. They need a mobile QB. Factor that with Snyder’s history. He’ll be a Redskin.

  15. Jaxom says: Aug 13, 2009 2:57 PM

Quick question …………… aren’t the Bills playing games in Canada, I was under the impression that a person with a Federal conviction would have problems getting into Canada.

  16. Duan says: Aug 13, 2009 3:00 PM

God I hope he doesn’t go to the Bills!? They are trying to be that circus side show that people go pay to see and then get disappointed.
Buffalo needs to address re-building that team via draft and not free agency! Hello Aaron Maybin! He needs to take $2 million more than last years #11 and get his but in camp! Posluzny needs some freakin’ help!!!

  17. The Rural Juror says: Aug 13, 2009 3:05 PM

Ralph Wilson said he signed T.O. to “Make Buffalo relevent again and get some headlines.”
Well signing Vick would cerainly make some headlines….I don’t know about relevent…

  18. stuulman says: Aug 13, 2009 3:07 PM

“The possibility intrigues us, because the Bills were the first team that we suggested folks should be watching as Vick re-enters the league.”
And since then you have also suggested half the teams in the NFL…but because that was the first I guess you are the best football analyst on the block, right, Florio? give me a break

  19. det32 says: Aug 13, 2009 3:13 PM

i cant w8 till he signs so this will end

  20. Hillbilly Coach says: Aug 13, 2009 3:13 PM

I don’t even like T O but to somehow compare his troubles with those of Vick is beyond ludicrous. Wilson was discussing football players, not ex-con, lowlife pieces of human waste like Vick.
(God, please make Mikie read some of these comments)

  21. Lumas101 says: Aug 13, 2009 3:14 PM

    Beastie,
What Roscoe to Chicago rumor? Do you have a link or anything? Thanks!

  22. CdnMike says: Aug 13, 2009 3:17 PM

    Great point Jaxom,
It is not easy to get into Canada anymore if you have convicted of anything serious. The UFC was in Montreal and Joe Rogan was not announcing, I wouldn’t be surprised if had a DUI in his past that stopped him.
    allday7776,
Jason Campbell isn’t exactly a statue back there and he throughs the ball a hell of a lot better than Vick.

  23. smiley says: Aug 13, 2009 3:17 PM

    mr. jumpman – you first.

  24. Mastro says: Aug 13, 2009 3:20 PM

The only way this happens is if the owner is trying to piss off the people of Buffolo so that when he tries to move the team to Canada in a couple of years it wont be that big of a loss, because at least then they’ll be getting rid of the dog murderer..
Probably very unlikely, but then again so are Florio’s speculations on where Vick will land.
Of course, if that is the owner’s angle, then tuche’ to you sir.

  25. TFBuckFutter says: Aug 13, 2009 3:22 PM

I hope Mike Vick starts in Buffalo.
Nothing will make me happier than Vick AND Owens both having a crappy year.

  26. cawren says: Aug 13, 2009 3:28 PM

Vick has a right to prove he is a changed man
    But he DESERVES NOTHING.
How many felons are welcomed back to their previous Jobs?
Few to none. What is this entitlement?
This man tortured dogs over and over and over…
    Hanging, drowning, electrocuting
Not a momentary laps in judgment not a mistake. He laughed with his buddies, bet and did it again and again..
My advice take a year off, working, showing you mean business about redemption. Talking to kids in the most vulnerable community’s about the horrors of dog fighting.
    Walk the walk
Perhaps then he might gain some ground with the skeptics.
I wonder how many “free to good home” ads are answered in order to collect the “bait” animals to train fighting dogs?
Puppies… Stray dogs.. Tape their mouth shut… Rip em up… Bait
No wonder our young people are confused between what is right and wrong. Money is reward.

  27. trickbunny says: Aug 13, 2009 3:31 PM

T.O.? Mike Vick? Looks like the Bills have become the attention whore of the NFL.

  28. the real deal says: Aug 13, 2009 3:31 PM

    breaking news,
    jumpman23 is Mike Vick!
    signs leading to this find….
he can’t spell and is dumb as SH1T!!!!!!

  29. JimmySmith says: Aug 13, 2009 3:33 PM

Doubt it highly, whoever signs Vick has to be tone deaf to their own fans and stupid beyond hope.
That leaves Daniel Synder with the Redskins and Ziggy out there in LA, I mean Mpls.

word down here is the south is vick will be a jaguar! im not a jags fan but i hope so that i can see him play. anyways dont be surprised if he is a jag by the end of the week direct quote from reggie nelson. jags safelty

  31. Agame says: Aug 13, 2009 3:35 PM

Someone PLEASE sign him already. I’m soooooo tired of hearing about it. Who cares at this point. The season is less than a month away. You want to talk about dogs, watch the dog channel. If not…STFU~!

  32. Hillbilly Coach says: Aug 13, 2009 3:36 PM

If Vick goes to the Bills, T O will not like the distraction taking away his spotlight. But maybe one of his bimbos (publicists… (snicker)) can take a pic of Vick eating a poodle or something and get him suspended…… again.
MrJumpman23, you are stinkin’ up the place. Your mother is to be condemned for having you and allowing you to live. Anal births always cause problems.

  33. Moe Lester says: Aug 13, 2009 3:41 PM

does anyone really think Vick will contribute anywhere? I mean that really really awesome career completion percentage of 53.8% will probably get even better after not playing a single down in 2 years. He’s not a QB. He’s not a RB. He’s not a WR.. Hes like Reggie Bush. A fast guy who can make a play here and there, but not near good enough to be dependable or put in a starting slot. Just ask Pierre Thomas of all people. Who cares what bench Vick rides?

  34. descendency says: Aug 13, 2009 3:46 PM

If the Bills do this, they’ll only be the 3rd worst team in the AFC East.

  35. studntofthegame says: Aug 13, 2009 3:50 PM

get ready haters…doesn’t matter where Vick will play…He will play in the NFL. Think about that and then enjoy feeling bad that you can’t stop it =)

  36. Beastie Bills says: Aug 13, 2009 4:02 PM

    @Lumas101
Earlier today, I heard that Buffalo and Chicago had a deal in place that would send Roscoe to Chicago in exchange for a 3rd and a backup OLB. I don’t have any link or anything, so I was hoping that maybe Florio could get to the bottom of it.

  37. Darth Ringo says: Aug 13, 2009 4:09 PM

So, anyone who doesn’t support Mike Vick’s return to pro football should die?
That’s a new low even for MV jock-sniffers.

  38. Bob Nelson says: Aug 13, 2009 4:12 PM

Every week a different team rumor and you can keep this up for 6 more months until every team has been rumored to be interested.
What team is on the checklist for next week?

  39. DarthPirate says: Aug 13, 2009 4:18 PM

Buffalo is the island of misfit toys apparently.
Neither Vick or Stallworth should EVER play in the NFL again.

I’d be surprised if Stallworth ever does.
Not because of his mishap….but because he was a marginal player, will be coming off a full year’s absence, and plays at an easily replaceable position.
Unless his contract with Cleveland is still in affect and is guarenteed.

Truer words have never been spoken. Pitchfork and torch engulfed in flames clutched tightly. Surely you jest? Or is the measure of your intelligence determined only by the narrow-minded perception of the person with whom you are at the moment at liberty to disagree with? I expect more from you Swing and Miss. Esp. since in your eyes I am a race-baiting fraud and hypocrite.
