east 96st…remember when a guy by the name of tose owned the eagles,do you know why he doesn’t own them anymore??the boy bet the team at the tables of a.c..the nfl covered this up faster than a cat covering a turd in a sandbox.
there’s a history of gambling and the eagles.
the thing i always wondered about was how vick ended the last two seasons with an identical record of 2-6,and added to this was his gambling on dog fights.serendipity…maybe.but i’m a cynic.

Eagles fans are not worried about the effect on Donovan because Donovan is the man there. Anybody who knows football knows that Vick is not being brought in to challange Donovan for his spot. This is the crazy world we live in. Everyone here has done something illegal before whether its something simple like running a stop sign. Does that mean you dont deserve your car back because you ran a stop sign….. Dante Stallworth killed somebody, so when he comes back everyone is going to boycott the Browns for taking him back I doubt it. Ray Lewis killed two people and won Super Bowl MVP, didnt see no one boycotting the Ravens for that. Does anyone understand that he actually beat alot of charges against him for the dogs, he went to jail for illegal gambling. So the Gov’t didnt care either,

The Eagles were that close to getting the Super Bowl last season.
I’m not expecting them there this year, but imagine the scenario should they return and Mr. Vick plays a key role. Would be a sight, Super Bowl press week would be nuts in itself.
Side note: Anyone keeping tracks on whether or not Philly is ok’ing Ron Mexico jerseys? – look for the old Jaworski jerseys ‘altered’ at home games this year. What a world.

Kidekk, you are absolutely right he is just as good as Eli Manning and I dont remember Vick having a receiver like Burress or a running back crew like Jacobs and Co. Eli won a superbowl with those kind of weapons. Everyone sort of forgets that Vick WAS the team in Atlanta. He didnt have much help there. So before everyone starts crucifying his football career lets take a look at that.

SixBurghDude, I am a Steelers fan and have been for years. You realize the Steelers were going after Vick as well right? Im not saying Vick is worth 7 mil I am just saying he’s not a bad player as I stated above.

Did Vick do a horrible thing? Yes, without a doubt! Did he deserve to go to prison? Absolutely! Did he do his time? Yes.
Have all of you never did anything bad? Im not saying to the extent of killing a lot of dogs but anything at all? How would you feel if no one forgave you? He did his time. You may not agree with the sentence but he completed it. There has to be forgiveness somewhere. Let he without sin cast the first stone.

Jeffrey Lurie is live right now claiming that he is more concerned with Vick’s off field actions (donating time for animal rights PSA) then how he does on the football field.
He claims that his play will not have a bearing on his status on the team but more importantly his ability to show remorse and reverse his actions.
So the Eagle Franchise can throw away a roster spot and 7 Million dollars for a charity case.
I am calling Al Davis right now and pleading my case maybe I could get a roster spot on the Raiders that has nothing to do with on field play. I am sure the many heinous acts I have committed I could pretend to be sorry for.
The Eagles are innovators maybe pretty soon all teams will have a charity case.
Don’t listen to the lies people this is about selling tickets in a down economy, nothing else.

I for one will never watch a game that he plays in. Mr. Humble, You know what’s funny about all of this “Vick has never been a good QB” talk. He was just as good as Eli Manning. If you look at the stats, the QB rating and numbers (granted there is a discrepancy because Eli Manning threw about 500+ more times than Vick, which is kind of offset by Vick’s running yards), they’re about the same. completion percentage only differs by about 2%, passer rating is only .4 above Vick, Vick has a higher yardage per attempt, and obviously obliterates him in rushing yardage as Eli does Vick in Passing yardage. I was of that school of thought that he wasn’t that good of a QB before either, but he’s not as bad as I used to make him out to be.
Someone also brought up a point that made me think: in every pro bowl game, where he was playing with the best, his passing numbers were always among the best. Granted it’s a pro bowl game so I really don’t know how much stock to put into that, if any, but considering how bad Derek Anderson played in it the year before his downfall, and how good QBs tend to do well, I guess I can put some stock in it? I don’t know.
But if there’s anything to be said, he’s about as good as Eli Manning.

He doesn’t have any intention of taking responsibility for the torture and abuse that he visited upon innocent dogs.And I am furious that The American Humane Society is using him as a role model for kids. That **** ended at the first check that he wrote for the dog fights, the first dog he killed and the lies that he has repeatedly told.

Florio – time to go lawyer on us. How will this affect the NFL’s lawsuit against Delaware? If I was a judge and the league was bitchin’ and moaning about a state run gambling institution, I would want a full explanation as to why, if gambling is SO detrimental to the league, they just allowed a man who went to jail for running an illegal interstate gambling ring to sign with one of their more well known teams. The hypocrisy of the NFL lawsuit against Delaware with this assclown wearing a set of wings on his helmet is staggering. Either gambling is “bad” or it isn’t. If it isn’t – let Delaware be. If it is – why is Vick signed?
