FOX shuffles back end of NFL lineup

Though the pregame show and the primary broadcast teams aren’t changing, FOX will have a different lineup of announcers for its Sunday afternoon NFL package during the 2009 season.

According to Michael Hiestand of USA Today, via SportsBusiness Daily, the No. 1 team will continue to be Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, and Pam Oliver.  The second unit will consist of Kenny Albert, Darryl Johnston, and Tony Siragusa.

After that, big changes arise.  The third team will be Dick Stockton and Charles Davis.  Next, Thom Brennaman and Brian Billick.  Then Sam Rosen and Tim Ryan, following by Ron Pitts and John Lynch and Chris Myers and Trent Green.

During the bye weeks, the last couple of broadcast teams likely won’t be used.  Presumably, Myers will work as a sideline reporter for one of the other crews, a function he has performed in the past.

Gone are Matt Vasgersian, Brian Baldinger, JC Pearson, and Tony Boselli.

    Good.
Bye bye baldinger.. Now if CBS could get rid of Dierdork. Gumble is gone, Emmitt Smiff is gone, Get rid of Dierdork and Deion the NFL air waves would improve greatly.

Why no love? Why the hate? I’m still around doing radio color for NFL games, so I’ll see you at the stadium. NFLN too! Check out my site at crookeddigit.com.

I always did think that JC Pearson was overmatched. He never did seem to quite grasp explaining the game of football to the audience.

For god’s sake why did they keep Tony Siragusa?
At least they dumped that stupid “signature” graphic for him they used to use. Still, his New Jersey gangster act is really old.

I’m good with this, if John Lynch can carry Ron Pitts. Still not very high on him.
I hated checking http://www.the506.com to see who was working which games and seeing Baldinger or Pearson on a game I wanted to watch.
Good to see Billick got a full time gig, I think he does well in the booth.

Now if they only got rid of Joe Buck …

Matt Vasgersian, Brian Baldinger, JC Pearson, and Tony Boselli are all about 1,000% better than Siragusa. I’m saying that without even knowing who Vasgersian & Pearson are.

For all the money that the networks pay for NFL rights you would think they could find decent announcers.
I was hoping the “bad” economy would be a great excuse for getting rid of the sideline reporter.
