The new look Tampa Bay Buccaneers have lost one of the few players on their roster that has ever made a Pro Bowl.
The team placed punter Josh Bidwell on injured reserve Monday, confirming the team’s worst fears about his hip injury. Bucs G.M. Mark Dominik says the injury isn’t career-threatening.
Dirk Johnson will get the first crack at filling Bidwell’s shoes. Despite Bidwell’s Pro Bowl status, his loss probably doesn’t warrant more than the PFT-mandated minimum three paragraphs.
The Bucs are serious contenders to match the Lions record of 0-16.
Todd Sauerbrun please. Somebody has to give this guy a job. Its great to see a return man sneak through and the punter lay him out.
Too bad we could not get the same minimum with Favre….
Packers should have never let him leave. Quality player.
Improve your efficiency before Mike fire’s you. Try:
Bye!
Bye!
Punter!
Come on Florio give me a story about Coach Cable punching the defensive assistant Hanson!
There goes my fantasy team!
Sorry about his injury and I did check it out before writing this so I know it’s not REALLY serious in the career-ending sense.
Still, if he comes back from Sx & Rehab, and he’s BAD enough, maybe Green Bay can hire him – just sayin’ -
I’ve already “legally” bet $5,000 on the Buccaneers to go “under” 6.5 wins for the season.
They’ll be AWFUL
It seems that punter is going to be a fairly important position on the Tampa roster this season. They’re going to need to find a guy that can kick deep, and often.
