I’m definitely interested in the UFL news. Especially this one, since Brett Dietz played in my home country, Finland, for one summer for the Turku Trojans. His career has taken a gigantic rise after that. Back then he was playing in front of crowds of 200-400 persons and probably got paid about 1000 bucks a month + meals + accommodation.

i am way more interested in ufl news than stupid crap like “brett favre just boarded a plane” and “brett favre just got out of an SUV” and stupid junk like that. what is this, tmz?
look, he’s going to be a viking. thats all i care about. he’s not going to be good because he only had 1 good season out of the last 5 or so.

you are all aware that UFL is a pro league right? When you get paid to play sports you are a pro, no longer an amature, the CFL and former XFL are also pro leagues, hence the term PROFOOTBALLTALK (not NFLTALK), also take note that the non pro league already has it’s own page… CFT

Florio does UFL news because he’s always covered the UFL on this site. In fact, my first knowledge of the UFL came from an article in the rumor mill posted by Florio about Mark Cuban owning a share of an amateur football league.

I do recall way back in the day that Florio had a post about the fact that he was covering the XFL. If I remember correctly, Florio’s reasoning was as long as players were getting paid, it’s professional. Also, as long as the league wasn’t “fake” like the XFL founder’s WWE, he’d cover it.
Also notice that there are occaisional blurbs concerning the CFL and AFL.

I am very interested in the UFL. And I’m glad that Denzel’s son is a professional football player. Plus, that is smart because his father will be attending some of his games.
Celebrity appeal is nice to have.

I will rarely stand up for Florio but you guys must be joking. This league is fielding guys who were contenders to play in the NFL and will likely become a feeder system for it. We all know there is not enough profootball product so we should all want to see it succeed.
