It's official.
Sunday Night Football will continue to be a staple of the NBC programming catalog through at least 2013.
NBC has announced the two-year extension to the current six-year contract, which was due to expire after the 2011 season.
Terms have not yet been disclosed or reported.
The release points out that NBC's history with the NFL dates back to 1939. NBC was the first network to televise a game, sending a contest between the Philadelphia Eagles and Brooklyn Dodgers to 1,000 cathode-ray tubes in New York City.
Seventy years later, NBC broadcast Super Bowl XLIII, the most-watched program in television history.

Glad to hear, get Monday night as well. ESPN's coverage sucks.
Also bring back the old CBS NFL opening music from 1992-1993:

That one
And a player lock out factors into this how?
Kissing the parent company's butt, I see!
And you've seen who was left standing after that game?!? Hell, the Dodgers decided to switch to baseball rather than play the Eagles again!!
Too bad the announcers for football night in america SUCK!!! NFL Primetime still has you beat!!! Keep the knit wit gals off the field too!!! Chatter into the plays is NOT good broadcasting!!! Step it up or you'll lose viewers!!!
Shill.
Shuxion you have to be kidding. I know its just 2 games so far, and preseason, but since they put Gruden in with Jaws and Tirico, that is the best lineup out there. Jaws has always been good, and Gruden it the perfect fit to go with(and against) him.
Now, as long as an owner doesn't wave a bunch of money in front of him next year, we will be O.K.
Thank god Kornhole is gone.
With all of this NBC money, can you pay Taco Bill to post more than a pic a month?
Football Night In America is absolutely horrendous.
Listening to Bob Costas and Cris Collinsworth puts me to sleep.
The pompous attitudes and sub-par jokes dished out by Dan Patrick and the guy from MSNBC are beyond annoying.
This sucks
What a shameless huckster wh0re you are, MoFlo.
Give me the games, yes--but as long as Olberwoman is given a forum for his snide, smug, lying little b1tch-ass insinuations, aspersions and digs, I won't be watching.
NBC --> mouthpiece/propaganda machine for the Barry Hussein Regime.

The release points out that......
This is the challenge with Corporate America today. Too many people being paid to do things that one person could do.
Mr. Florio is part of N.B.C. He is a writer, He also is an Attorney.
Why did NBC not have Mr. Florio write the press release, after he negotiated the contract, and then break the story on PFT?
Florio lives in a disclaimer glass house
We got it already, you posted something about earlier.
That's fine as long as dipsh%$ Olbermann isn't on!
ESPN's monday night football has got better!!! I like the commentators now!!! Al Michaels is still the best with Madden!!! Collinsworth is less to be desired!!! the gals on both networks STILL need to go AWAY!!!
old collinsworth has that ebaneezer scrooge nose going on. but i love him. innit?
