Reggie Bush isn’t seriously injured, but another first-round pick by the Saints might be.
Left tackle Jamaal Brown, who is a lot more crucial to the team’s success than Bush, is sidelined indefinitely with a groin injury.
The team suspects Brown has a sports hernia, but Brown visited a specialist on Thursday to undergo further testing. Saints coach Sean Payton said the evaluation has not yet happened.
Losing Drew Brees’ Pro Bowl blind side protector would be a huge blow to the Saints offense. Brown’s play has been up and down in his career, but he’s a quality starter.
Brown’s backup, Zach Strief, is also out with a knee injury. The team will likely use their third-string left tackle Jermon Bushrod against the Texans on Saturday.
Expect Drew Brees to hand the ball off a lot this weekend.
