Nine hours after getting released from the Pinellas County Jail in Clearwater, Florida, Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib was back on the football field Thursday afternoon.
Talib arrived on the field late, walking out with G.M. Mark Domenik. Initially, he was on the field, but not practicing with the team.
The question now for Dominik will be whether the team chooses to punish Talib for repeated incidents. There is precedent for such punishment on the Bucs, as the team suspended cornerback Torrie Cox after a drunk driving incident in 2005.
That was under a different administration in Tampa, so Talib will be an interesting test case of how tough Dominik and new coach Raheem Morris will be on player conduct.
If they don’t suspend him for at least one game, it’s going to be sending a very bad message to the rest of the guys on the roster. Besides, this punk has had issues going back to his college days.
For as dumb as Talib is, he should get a couple of points for at least taking a cab when he had been drinking. That shouldn’t be overlooked.
Yes, he is a complete moron for getting into fights all the time, but better than killing someone…
Give him a raise
The only person that is saying that Talib was intoxicated is the 3 day veteran cabbie. His OPINION of Talib’s sobriety is inconsequential. You notice he wasn’t arrested for drunk and disorderly.
shit follows him like flies follow shit.
just a matter of time with this ugy…
