Eagles coach Andy Reid previously was coy regarding the question of whether quarterback Mike Vick will make his return to the field for the first time since December 2006 on August 27, 2009 against the Jaguars.
On Saturday, Reid sounded like he’s leaning toward letting Vick play.
“There’s a chance,” Reid said Saturday in remarks circulated by the team. “I want to see again how he does this week. He worked throughout the week here as we went to the game. He did a couple of workouts here and was here yesterday on the players’ day off and worked hard. He’s getting through that soreness, and we’ll just see how it works out this week for him as he goes through practice.”
As Reid continued, it began to sound like the “chance” is actually a “certainty.”
“I think everybody is [anxious to see Vick play], including, most of all, himself,” Reid said. “I think he wants to get in and play again, so we’ll see how that goes. I can’t tell you right now how much he’s going to play. He’s shooting to play this game, and we’ll see how he does this week and how he’ll feel the closer we get to the game.”
But while Reid previously has been unequivocal regarding his position that Vick is and will be a quarterback, Reid threw a wrench of ambiguity into the mix when asked if Vick will line up at quarterback on Thursday night.
“You never know,” Reid said.
I want to see Vick get sacked!
Sweet. The comeback of Vick starts soon. This time next year he should be the face of one lucky franchise. Sweet.
He is an ass and so are the egurls
Vick will get an ovation from the Eagles fans. You should hear the odd booing from the few leftist douchebags who are brave enough to enter the stadium. I’ll have the Eagles security on speed dial to make sure they are removed from the Linc for their own safety.
There’s still a chance he’ll torture some dogs isn’t there? Chance is in the top 20 of dog names by the way. (no stats to back that puppy up)
Hey bigblueballs. Your mom is an ass..literally. No seriously, she’s a donkey.
They should play him, after this upcoming game they’ll only have 1 more chance to take a look at Vick. Then who knows when he’ll be back. What do they have to lose by playing him? The Vikings started Favre when he signed a few days earlier.
Andy Reid has to already be in consideration for coach of the year. I have full confidence that he will manage this situation right and get the best performance out of Vick. Vick probably wins comeback player of the year.
I have raised Saint Bernard’s for the last 35 years. I have had birds, cats, fish and dogs most of my life. I quit eating meat of any kind 35 years ago to NOT participate in the destruction of animal life for my eating pleasure.
I still feel that Michael has paid his price heavily. That is NOT to say that I feel it was “OK” by any standard what he participated in, I was and am appalled when I think of it.
Michael deserves a second chance as do many other people that fall of the track. I don’t know about the rest of you but I have done some things that I am not proud of in my 64 years and I am just glad that it was not reported to everyone on the front page of the news paper or evening news..
C B Albert, any idea how many chances Vick has had? I hope Vick breaks his neck – but only after he infects the entire Eagles organization with herpes.
C B ALBERT….very well said. I own multiple dogs, and have been an animal lover my entire life. What Vick did was as wrong as wrong can be, and there is no denying that fact. I can’t even fathom how someone could do something like that. However, I am also not ignorant, and realize that where Vick was born and raised, dog fighting is more than common place. Is that an excuse for what he did, absolutely NOT. Just trying to understand how someone could get involved in something like that to begin with. But like Albert said, as much as I disagree with what Vick did, just about everyone deserves a 2nd chance in life. He served A LOT of time in prison and lost over $100 million dollars. I think he paid his price and no matter what Vick does, there will be the people (fans of teams other than the Eagles who would have LOVED having Vick, but since they didn’t get him they are acting like they would have never wanted him, LMAO) who will NEVER be satisfied, and want Vick to pay for the rest of his life. These same people who have done NOTHING to prevent animal cruelty, they just like to jump on the Vick bashing bandwagon, and they are claiming they are “Eagles fans” when they just live in the area, and couldnt name 5 players on the current team. So sick of all of these hypocrites.
It’s obvious that Math is not taught in the Philthy educational system, at any level, otherwise those who defend this deplorable felon would realize that he’s had at least 5 chances already & can’t get it right…once a thug always a thug!

Oh good, I’ll keep that in mind when I watch James Harrison play. And didn’t Big Ben try to rape a girl and then intimidate her via his celebrity status? Sounds kind of thuggish to me.
@ Jackal-
Dude, you’re better than that, based on your posts your smart enough to see the difference…James got a bit physical with his kid’s mother (not condoning it by any means, but research it & you’ll see what I mean) & Ben, I’m sure you’ll agree at this point, looks as if he did nothing against the law in his case. I’m also confident that you know that Vick’s is another story on a whole different level, this felon’s life has been one train wreck after another & the train ain’t even in the station yet either, scumbag’s had too many chances already, all of which you or I never would have gotten.
