Panthers linebacker Jon Beason, who quickly has become one of the best linebackers in the league, suffered a right knee injury during Saturday night's preseason game against the Dolphins.
Per Steve Reed of CarolinaGrowl.com, Beason will have an MRI today.
"We'll get some tests done tomorrow and see what happens," Beason said.
"I was getting off a block and I'm not sure if someone came at me
intentionally or if they fell on it. I'm assuming someone fell on it."
He said that it's "definitely not the ACL," and the he believes that his ability to continue to play after suffering the injury is "encouraging."
Still, the sight of Beason on crutches after the game had to make folks in Carolina wonder whether Beason could be joining defensive tackle Ma'ake Kemoeatu as early casualties of the 2009 season.
