Saturday night got off to a bad start when Lions TE Carson Butler and DL Dewayne White got into a fight during warmups.
Said Lions QB Matthew Stafford of his 5-for-13 performance, “Obviously, it’s a tough loss, and we don’t want to play that way,
especially myself. I’m
learning from every situation I get in.”
Stafford was one of many Lions who hurt their stock during Saturday night’s loss to the Browns.
Lions LB Darnell Bing left the game after injuring himself on punt coverage.
After going sackless in the first preseason game, the Lions racked up three of them on Saturday night.
Browns WR Joshua Cribbs returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, but it was called back on a penalty, but he later took a punt 84 yards for a score.
Browns CB Eric Wright embarrassed himself with a leap into the stands after a play when he didn’t score — and he cost the team 15 yards in field position.
Said Browns QB Derek Anderson of his resurgent performance, “I was given the opportunity, and I wanted to take advantage of it.”
Alex Mack got the start at center for the Browns on Saturday, but his battle with Hank Fraley is still undecided.
Browns WR Mike Furrey said he got no special satisfaction from defeating his former team on Saturday.
