Four years, four season-ending injuries for Dvoracek

His three prior NFL seasons ended with season-ending injuries.

Bears defensive tackle Dusty Dvoracek is now four for four.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times, Dvoracek tore the ACL in his right knee during Saturday night’s preseason game against the Bears.

Foot surgery wiped out his rookie season.  A torn ACL in his left knee limited Dvoracek to only one game in 2007.  He got through 12 games — all starts — last year before tearing a biceps tendon.

The third-round pick from the 2006 draft undoubtedly will head to injured reserve.  Absent an extenstion to the labor agreement, he’ll be a restricted free agent in March 2010.

as someone once said, kharma is a bitch

How is this kharma? You’re a goober. If it were kharma, wouldn’t Dusty have had to do something to deserve these injuries? The only thing Dusty is guilty of is working his ass off.

Maybe if he would stop playing against his own team, he could stay healthy.

Its too bad but too predictable at this point and a familiar headline for myself and fellow Bears fans. Time for both parties too move on.

    Kharma for doing what exactly?

So, the Bears played the Bears Saturday night huh? Wouldn’t that be called a scrimmage, or even practice?

Amazing how some players’ bodies, such as Jerry Rice’s and Walter Payton’s, never break down and they never get hurt. Then other players, such as John Offerdahl and apparently Dusty Dvoracek simply cannot stop getting hurt.

I think the Kharma that DG0122 refers to is based on allegations against Dusty at Oklahoma. Bob Stoops threw him off the team at one point.

Bummer, particularly if Harris’ knees are hurting and he will be needing breaks. Geez, did this guy go to the same school or doctor as the Pack’s Harrell?

  13. goober says: Aug 24, 2009 10:59 AM

I think Dusty was in jeopardy of not making this team before he got hurt.

Entering his senior year at OU, he beat his buddy into a coma, and was summarily kicked off the team. this was the third time he had had run-ins with the law.

then stoops, in a move tom osborne no doubt envies, petitioned to the ncaa to get him a medical redshirt for alcoholism.
