Plaxico interview airs Tuesday night on ESPN

Receiver Plaxico Burress, who agreed last week to a plea bargain that will entail a base sentence of two years in prison for felony weapons charges, will speak to ESPN's Jeremy Schaap in an interview to be aired Tuesday night on E:60.

Excerpts will air during Monday's 6:00 p.m. ET SportsCenter -- and presumably thereafter every 15 minutes or so until the show airs on Tuesday night.

Schaap, who typically doesn't cover football for ESPN, has been involved in some of the network's reporting regarding the Burress story.  For example, Schaap reported on November 30 that Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce was with Burress when he accidentally shot himself in the leg with a loaded and unlicensed weapon at a Manhattan club.

Jeremy Schaap is such a nasally, pompous windbag. ESPN inundating its viewers with segments from this piece every 15 minutes is all the more reason to skip summer sportscenter's lineup of baseball and favre/vick mania.

    Here's the first bit

    The Modern American Sports Scandal

You've probably been forced to feel one way or the other about Brett Favre. I think most sports fans will be able to separate the great moments Favre gave us, from ESPN’s tabloid feeding fevre. Ha!

There's definitely been deception from the Vikings and Favre for the last 5 months. They’d been making eyes at each other for nearly 20 months, and we all saw it. Why they insisted on lying I will never know. We buy them like Bradgelina on the cover of US Weekly. No matter what you feel about Favre and the Vikings, you’ll have an eye on their games this year.

Being a Bronco fan I have interest in Jay Cutler and the Bears...probably rooted in jealousy. The Denver Donkeyshow has been painful to watch and I’ve become numb to it all. You’ve got Dan Conner abusing DJ…and somehow I actually think it helps the Raiders. I am enthralled with Hard Knocks and the Cincinnati Bengals…I think they might be competitive. There are a surprisingly high number of teams that will/could be competitive. It should be a great season.

"Plaxico Burress said in a television interview he didn't realize he'd accidentally shot himself until he saw the blood dripping onto his sneakers"

And then when he went into the bathroom, he said he didn't realize he had a brain until he took a shit !

They had excerpts on MNF last night. The classic line was Plax, after explaining how he had his hand down his pants reaching for the gun, asking "What are the odds? I could do it a million times and not hit the trigger". I could almost hear Frank Costanza: "It was a million to one shot, doc!".
