Crabtree should of stayed in college for 2 more years, what’s the rush to enter the draft anyway.
I think there should be a rule where a player can enter the draft after their senior season. plus there should be a rookie salary cap for first round draft picks, especially for QB where there
are the most draft busts of all time. Crabtree should be happy to take what he can get. The 49ers made a mistake drafting him. The Oakland raiders did the right thing by passing up on Crabtree, this guy looks like a jerk and acts like a jerk!

GUARENTEED….. if Craptree renters the draft next year, NO owner would draft him in the first round. If they did, they would set precedence and slit their own throats because then these unproven rookies would hold out every year!

I watched Crabtree at Texas Tech last fall, and even though he was a great college player, he has yet to PROVE himself in the NFL!!! I am a firm believer that you DO NOT pay these kids an enormous amount of money their first year (rookie) year BEFORE they can show that they belong in the league. Sometimes it is their agent who causes these problems, but not always. He was a tenth round pick, come on. All he is doing his hurting himself!

As someone said above, he will sign before the first game. Bank on it.
He will also get worked into some games and show some flashes of greatness along with some fumbles and dropped passes. Fans will boo him when he stumbles, and cheer when he does something good.

I’m not defending him at all, the point of my original post was to show that although I have always shown disdain for players that hold out, this one really hasn’t upset me at all.
I guess I just view it as part of the process.

Child please, Crabtree is a fool. He was never Calvin Johnson, or even Keyshawn Johnson for that matter, while he was in college. Now he thinks he can command a ridiculous money because HE thinks he deserved to be the 1st WR picked in the draft??? 9 teams passed on you Michael, get a grip on reality. He may end up being a good player, but the early indication is that he has “BUST” written all over him.

Not sure why guys like Touchdowntrabo are defending Craptree so much. The only thing he’s done for the 9ers is open the door for all this hating. In truth, it’s not the 9ers fault at all and it shouldn’t reflect poorly on the organization. I would venture a guess that had the Raiders taken him at #7, he would be holding out for top 5 money.
Maybe he just doesn’t want to play for a team that has a recent history of losing. If that’s the case, good for the 9ers and I hope they stick it to him. Tired of these guys thinking they deserve anything before proving themselves in the NFL. Sure he had great college stats, but that doesn’t always translate to the NFL. The 9ers should wait until week 1 and if he hasn’t signed offer him the league minimum. This crap wouldn’t be happening if there wasn’t a history of teams caving. Guys like Elway and Eli Manning making demands like they should get a choice of who they play for is ridiculous.
And Touchdowntrabo, “Good Shutdown Corner?” Not if he gets beat like he did last week.

Per league rules, the 49ers would not be allowed to draft Crabtree if he entered into 2010 Draft. It is to keep a franchise from sitting on said players’ ability to earn a living by begrudgingly drafting him and not working out a contract again.

To even consider sitting out and wasting a year hoping to be drafted higher is so foolish it is laughable. Given what he has shown as a poor personality, what team would even take him in the top 10.

The “bammer” is quite good in Humboldt, but that’s besides the point.
I disagree with the comparison being “stupid”. It’s legit.
Let’s compare Woods and Crabtree:
Woods: 6-foot-2, 202 pounds, college career: 293 receptions, 4,414 yards and 42 touchdowns.
Crabtree: 6-foot-1, 210 pounds, college career, 231 receptions, 3,127 yards, 41 touchdowns.
Both were outstanding athletes in the spread formations each school ran (Woods – Oklahoma State), (Crabtree – Texas Tech). And both faced very little legitimate corner backs in the Big 12 during their playing careers.
I’m a die-hard Niner fan and it’s sad to see the state Crabtree is in.

Crabtree will sign when games begin because that’s when he starts losing money. This is obviously too predictable, and his agent knows it. They’re not talking because the niners offered fair money (20% of last years #10 from what I understand), and everyone knows he’ll sign when games start. All he ends up doing is looking like the diva idiot he is. You know, Terrell Owens was a very nice kid for about 2 years…ugh!
And the only reason Hill isn’t getting credit is because he lacks the arm strength and physical tools of the big name QB’s. But ever since the world over looked Kurt Warner it obvious that the coaches and experts really don’t know how to evaluate a QB. If through training camp they can’t tell. Winning happens in a game. Hills a proven winner, and that’s all you can say until proven otherwise.

Crabtree must think he’s Jerry Rice. For ones who’s old enough to remember, Rice was booed his rookie year. He dropped balls, ran wrong routes, etc.
And to think that Crabtree is the next Rice, well he can sit play video games and flip burgers for minimum wage. Cause if he does wait until next years draft one, he won’t be top 10. Two, hopefully there’s a rookie wage scale. And three, I can see him being an UNDRAFTED FA. and he’ll make league minimum money as a rookie.
