McDaniels wears hoodie "in honor" of where he came from

There is a lot of love flowing through the Belichick/Parcells coaching tree lately, Eric Mangini not included.  The Patriots and Broncos are making deals, as are the Chiefs and Dolphins.

Broncos coach Josh McDaniels is even choosing his Sunday worst in honor of his old boss.

As many readers may have seen, McDaniels wore a gray hoodie to Denver’s last preseason game.  Despite a game-time temperature of 69 degrees.

Cue the reaction from New England.

Tom Brady: “I told [McDaniels] I liked his hoodie he was wearing.  He said it was in honor of where he came from.  He had been a great coach here and he moved on for a great opportunity with a great organization.  Like most guys, when you learn under the best coach probably in the history of the of the NFL, you’re taking a lot of knowledge with you.  I have no doubt he’s going to be a great coach – expect for the game he plays this year [when] I don’t care.”

Belichick clearly coached up his young pupil on the finer art of sideline dressing.  “Yeah, we spent a lot of time on that,” Belichick deadpanned.

An enterprising reporter told him McDaniels rolled his sleeves, rather than hacking them with a machete, Belichick-style.

“Yeah, he’s probably trying to make his own statement then,” Belichick said, before cracking up.

    Newsworthy stuff here folks

Whether McDaniels wears a hoodie or not, the poor donkey fans will find out that the only success coming from the Belichick coaching tree is Belichick himself!
Good luck on a 5-11 season!

Probably about the only time you will hear the Donkeys compared to the Superbowl contender Pats. McDaniels won’t last a year with the turmoil he has brought that team, Cutler was smart to want out with his contract coming up.

That’s some funny s**t right there.
    Cue the Jordan Hanes commercial.

He’s probably wearing the hoodie to shield himself from the inevitable debris that’ll be flying out of the Denver stands and into his general direction.
First impression is that he’s in *way* over his head…

McDaniels shouldn’t wast time copying slovenly sideline attire, he should copy the things that made the Pats win:
    1. Get REAL lucky by drafting a hall of fame QB in the later rounds.
    2. Cheat.

    McDaniels is a doofus

McDaniels brought turmoil to the Broncos?
And here I thought it was when Shanny benched Plummer and proceeded to have a losing record with Jay “Ringo” Cutler.
7-4 with Plummer and playoff-bound (again).
Great time for a change. Oops.

Oh c’mon, he probably ran out of clean shirts and all he could find was the hoodie. Now if it was a Patriots sweatshirt, THEN you’d have a story!

    @ Quagmire
You don’t get it, do you

I’m not sure which I like more, the Belichick hoodie or the Tomlin Gortex. All I know is, they are both badass.

Dude, give it up already. This is a blog. If you want riveting news, go to CNN, SI, ESPN, etc. LOL This is a blog. Get over yourself or stop reading.
I do think it’s corny that McDaniels (Little Kiffin) is doing this. He will stop as soon as he starts losing and people start comparing him to Daddy Bille-cheat. Then he will want everyone to see him for who he is and to not compare him.

Broncos’ brown nose coach. He’ll be gone at the end of the 2010 season.

As much as I hate the Donks, I am a McDaniels fan and wish him luck. He learned from the best, but then again, so did Mangenious.

    BorisBulldog:
The “donkey” bit is hugely unoriginal.
And where do you get off saying the Broncos will win five games? I’m a lifelong Denver fan, and I’d put it closer to three.

Wow. I’m glad Brady covered his ass by throwing in a “probably.”

yes alph… if shanarat had stayed with plummer, they win at least 1 of those 3 losses (seattle or frisco), maybe 2, and go to the playoffs.
the broncos turned it over 5 times vs seattle incl 2 picks, 1 for td. 1 fumble was cutler’s.
and thrice vs frisco incl 1 pick. to be fair, plummer played some injury relief and tossed a pick in that game. cutler’s pick again went back for a td.
take away either pick six, and the broncos add a win.

You just know that this hoodie has some Belichick “DNA” on it.
McDaniels was Belichick’s own Monica Lewinsky only she is a better football coach.
She certainly saw more victory cigars then Josh ever will.
You go Josh. Dress like Yoda and wear it proud!

I wonder if, in honor of old Billy, McDaniels uses the same camera lenses to film defensive signals as his old boss?
Oh, why am I trying on this one, Quagmire already knocked it out of the park.

  20. FumbleNuts says: Aug 27, 2009 2:28 AM

If the hoodie doesn’t get it done, maybe McTard can wear a Whiskey Barrel?

The more Denver drama the better. That 1st rounder given to Seattle needs to be in the top 5.
