Pro-Vick demonstration might be called off

The man who has organized a demonstration to support Eagles quarterback Mike Vick says that the demonstration might be called off.

J. Whyatt Mondeshire, president of the Philadelphia chapter of the NAACP, told Mike Missanelli of ESPN 950 that the demonstration won’t proceed if, as it appears, no animal-rights groups will be demonstrating against Vick at Thursday night’s game.

“We’re not looking just to have a demonstration for demonstration’s sake,” Mondeshire said.

Though he didn’t quite explain it this way, we’ve heard that the Eagles asked Mondeshire and company to pull the plug.

Modeshire pegged the likelihood of the demonstration happening at three out of ten.

And he said that his assessment of quarterback Donovan McNabb hasn’t changed.

Here’s the link to the audio.

An executive for an anti-animal cruelty group says her 16-year-old blind and deaf dog died after she accidentally left him in her hot car for four hours.

Mondeshine is as ignorant as some of the fools on here if he think Vick is half the qb Mcnabb is.

the person who left the poor dog in the car should have first dibs on mike vicks old jail cell.

I need to make one correction. The name is NAALCP. The “L” is for Liberal. Thinking people don’t need them.

A 16 year old blind and deaf dog….the dog probably committed suicide because its owner was too soft to put it down.

Wow, that’s guy’s a tremendous douche. Not just a big douche or a giant douche. Tremendous.
He’s trying to play both sides. He’s clearly playing it as a race issue but refuses to acknowledge it.

So, Mr. “Publicity”……..No money to be made huh……Damn, thats a shame….You know, you could still get a busload of “outraged” people to attend the game…..Lurie would probably give ya a suite…..What was it you were protesting again?…..Vicks 2 years 7 million was too low? Is that it?………..Jackass

Mondesire is an interesting character. He works for many great causes. But he jumped all over McNabb’s ass, acusing him of being “mediocre” for no apparent reason. I lost all respect for him then. Now he’s playing the Vick thing. Why can’t people just let it go? Give Vick a year or two without special promotions or demonstrations, either for or against him. Vick’s a millionaire again and he will get by on his own without help from people whose name Florio cannot spell. Unless he florks up. Those people who are being ridiculously pro-Vick at this point obviously have big axes to grind. Dungy. Mondesire.

Why is the NAACP involved in this? Did someone wrong an african american? Give me a break. It seems like it doesn’t even matter what a man does. If he is a black man then the NAACP will be there regardless. It’s a bunch of shit!

    It’s called a publicity stunt:
    publicity stunt, n
an event staged to get public attention or for marketing purposes
Example: A publicity stunt is a planned event designed to attract media attention to the promoters, the perpetrators, or their cause.
    And it was a success.

Mondesire is like the kid on the playground that doesn’t know when to shut up. He should be singing the praises of players like Donovan McNabb. Instead he backs a serial animal torturer & killer…
And continues to bash Dono. Mondesire is silly & disappointing

Well really an issue of liability arises for NAACP if someone were to get hurt. Based on previous experiences with Animal Activist they are weak and scared. If the two groups were to come face to face, the fur would fly.

Translation…Somebody from the NAACP with some intelligence/power called this guy and said “WTF?” “You are gonna do what?”

Michael Vick is living in Terrell Owens’s house in Moorestown, NJ (Remember Owens doing situps in that driveway a few years ago on TV). Donovan Mcnabb also lives nearby and has 2 boxer dogs of his own.
The media is keeping it quiet.

jimicos, and he also decreed that mcnabb is white, for purposes of his rants.
i have seen some real bulldykes in these animal-rescue/adoption outfits. i bet they pack heat.
and dungy is right, they’re a-goin’ to hell.

    A demonstration? Seriously?
    Let’s play “spot the racism”:
African-American QB drafted #1 overall goes to jail (for one crime, because the local African-American DA did not prosecute the animal deaths), he was released early, and an African-American Super Bowl-winning coach (who is on a first-name basis with the African-American President of the United States) helped the QB — within a few short weeks — secure a multi-million dollar player contract with an NFL team, even though the QB had last played in 2006.
Not only was the time away from the game a factor, but no player in the history of the NFL had been released from prison after being convicted of a felony and played again (that I know of).
Yeah , what a horrible racist country this is. Good thing the NAACP is on the job.
Not to “go long” here but I want to add the NAACP was a heroic –and necessary– organization back in the day. People like Thurgood Marshall and Rosa Parks are genuine American heroes.
But times have changed, and it’s a farce watching some of these groups justify their taxpayer-subsidized existence by crying racism where it does not exist.
Especially when the same local group had attacked the team’s CURRENT African-American quarterback, Donovan McNabb, for not being “black enough”!!

So the NAACP is no saying yes to drugs dog fighting and gambling?
    This is what they support
What a fine fine group this is I bet Rosa Parks is rolling over in her grave
She would kick vicks ass of the bus

  23. texasPHINSfan says: Aug 27, 2009 11:35 AM

the NAACP needs to get intelligent people to run that organization.
there is a difference between promoting the advancement of “colored” people and just being stupid.
i KNOW they have intelligent people in that organization – why put a moron to run it? Mondeshire just sent them back a few years in the “progress” department with this one.

  24. texasPHINSfan says: Aug 27, 2009 11:43 AM

IMO things like this perpetuate racism, not help remove it.
