One Jets rookie has ascended to the starting lineup, but another one is going to need some more time before he makes an impact on the offense.
Shonn Greene, the team’s third-round pick out of Iowa, suffered cartilage damage to his ribs on his first carry against the Ravens on Monday night. Rex Ryan said they’ll be conservative with Greene and that he doesn’t “think he’ll play in the preseason.”
It’s the second time that Greene, expected to play a role in the team’s running back rotation with Thomas Jones and Leon Washington, has come up injured. He sprained his right ankle early in training camp before coming down with his rib injury.
Greene has carried the ball 11 times for 50 yards in the first two preseason games. His absence should provide more opportunities for Danny Woodhead to impress Ryan and/or other teams around the league. The Jets also signed RB Anthony Kimble on Thursday.
who?
2008 Doak Walker Award, 3rd round pick of the Jets.
You really ought to follow football, it’s a great sport!
So, who moved Greene’s ribs? He probably wasn’t in the game early enough to get any attention from Lewis.
Oh yeah.. 3rd round pick for the Jets. Can’t believe I didn’t know that.. chump!
Yeah, surfboard dude, you probably should have known that if you’re following Florio…
As much as I hate the Jets, saying who to Shonn Greene just shows your ignorance… Dude was a BEAST for Iowa last year and I think he’ll end up being better in the NFL than Chris Wells, a first round pick.
Sorry I don’t drool over other grown men.. Unlike Florio and his drones
