Vick makes it back to Philly early

With the hearing in his bankruptcy case concluding earlier than expected, Eagles quarterback Mike Vick was able to hop an earlier flight and return to Philadelphia, according to ESPN.

Vick arrived back in Philly at 2:25 p.m., giving him more than enough time to get to Lincoln Financial Field in advance of tonight’s game against the Jaguars.

Meanwhile, Paolantonio reports that Vick will take the field at some point in the first quarter, both as a traditional quarterback and in some Wildcat formations.

Quarterback Donovan McNabb is expected to line up at receiver for some of the plays.

But there’s a caveat.  If coach Andy Reid thinks that Vick is struggling with the pace of the first NFL game in which he will have played since December 2006, Reid will yank Vick from the field.

PETA, the Jaguars are just their nickname. They are people not actual cats. Just thought I would tell you since people are not your thing.
    Go Vick!!!!!!

  6. Kevin from Philly says: Aug 27, 2009 2:54 PM

Donny better run the out pattern. Like, right out of the field of play. If he gets hurt playing receiver, they’re gonna have more people protesting Andy’s stupid idea than would have ever booed Vick.

Hide your beagles, Vick’s an Eagle! Not mine but thought it was funny anyhow…
Hope he does well, 2yrs in jail was served so let the man move on already. Every Philly fan out there that hates him will be singing a different tune when he rips off a 60 yd touchdown in overtime during a game that counts. I mean, if Ray Lewis killed a guy and everyone loves him now, so why not #7????

RICHMOND, Virginia – An executive for an anti-animal cruelty group says her 16-year-old blind and deaf dog died after she accidentally left him in her hot car for four hours.
Robin Starr, the CEO of the Richmond Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, says she didn’t realize “Louie” was in the car until noon. Starr’s husband, Ed, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch he put the dog in her car as she got ready for work Aug. 19. She often took the dog to work with her.

as i said below – the thing i dont like here is that a friend who lives in moorestown emailed me that owens(now vick) is his neighbor. a few years ago eagles made a huge fuss about owens knocking his eagles qb mcnabb and he was eventually suspended for year by team and team finished nowhere. and there was a constant vigil of media on owens driveway by media. especially espn. everyone remembers owens doing situps in that driveway and owens agent telling media “next question ” for every thing they asked him. well early in august owens now with buffalo was first to state vick should be signed by someone. and not long after eagles sign him BUT press never reveals he is now living in owens house!

This just in… Michael Vick Takes a Dump, Causes Uproar
Former dog killer Michael Vick made headlines today soon after arriving in Philadelphia.
Sal Paolantonio of ESPN reports that Vick, having traveled all day and in a hurry, rushed into the restroom to make a “pit stop”.
Allegedly, it was there, in a bathroom stall festooned with members of the media that have followed Vick non-stop since he killed dogs, observed Vick perform bowel movements.
It was at this time that Jay Glazer posted on his twitter “vick jst dumped n used 2ply”.
In response to this, John Passacantando, CEO of Greenpeace, released a statement slamming the former criminal for being what he termed a “tree killer”.
“Vick kills dogs and now he kills trees. Why does he need to use 2ply? This is an outrage! The NFL should ban him for life.”
The CEO also added that he was planning a protest before the game at Lincoln Financial Field tonight. No word on whether or not protesters would be driving to the demonstration.

SPCA is the smaller one whose CEO left her dog in the car…
    ASPCA..that is the largest association…..
ASPCA works out of New York and will assist anywhere in the country if needed. They are really tough on abused animal owners…..they do kick ass when it is deserved!
    I think I may have confused the issue…..but I sure do second what DCSNIPA202………said . I’ll supply the cables…..
For those who want to sweep under the rug what Vick did and how animal cruelty relates to human abuse…read the PDF that is linked on here.

good thing he wasn’t carrying his water bottle through security this time…guess he’s really turned over a new leaf…

  31. jandrew121 says: Aug 27, 2009 4:05 PM

For the person that mentioned Ray Lewis, if you are going to say something at least know what you are talking about. Ray did not kill anyone, he knew who did and did not want to rat him out. That’s why he was initially charged. Second, as far as Vick is concerned. Let’s see what he can do, after 2 years I will be amazed if he has the quickness he had before. I do believe he will be a better qb. He will work harder, be smarter and not just rely on his athletic ability. Being in jail will change someone hopefully for the better.

  32. jandrew121 says: Aug 27, 2009 4:12 PM

To the poster mentioning Ray Lewis, he did not kill anyone. I want to see if he changes his approach to playing the qb position. It should be fun to see. Finally, please tell me the story out of Richmond, VA is a stupid but cruel joke. No one can be that careless with someone they view as a family member.

  33. famucancer says: Aug 27, 2009 4:13 PM

The judge obviously wants to see the game tonight with Vick there…LOL. He had him in and out of court in less than 2 hours. LOL

  34. cfuska says: Aug 27, 2009 4:13 PM

Good for Vick. I mean Ray Lewis killed someone and what happened to him, nothing. Vick bankrolled dog fighting. Which sounds worse to you. I only wish the Steelers would have picked him up because I would loved to have seen him in Wildcat or lined up in the slot. Good luck to Vick. Just because he got caught doesn’t mean he’s the only one doing it. I’m not saying dogfighting is right by any means, but the man served his time, he’s doing PSA’s, what more do you want people. Give him a break. I wish him the best.

  35. cfuska says: Aug 27, 2009 4:16 PM

And by the way, for those of you trying to bail out Ray Lewis, knowing who killed somone and not saying anything is no better than killing the person yourself. Tell that victim’s family that Ray was just trying not to be a rat. See how they like that. Maybe if it was your relative that got killed, you wouldn’t see things that way.

  36. truthsayer says: Aug 27, 2009 4:18 PM

Any word on whether Vick tried to sneak an Aquafina bottle with a secret compartment through security? Anyone missing a watch?

  37. Alpheratz says: Aug 27, 2009 4:26 PM

Considering nobody has been prosecuted for the crime, I’m not sure we can say that.

  40. FrankfordYellowJackets says: Aug 27, 2009 4:48 PM

jandrew121, what a great guy Ray Lewis is for not ratting out murderers! Whew! That’s HOF material!
If someone in your family, God forbid, was murdered and Ray knew who it was you’d do whatever you could to get him to rat.
    Idiot.

This just in, Vick takes a crap prior to practice.
This just in, he has wiped his a**.
This just in, he’s eating fried chicken and water mellon (yes, thats a poke at the video that player released).
So, Florio, we don’t need an update every… five… minutes… on Vick and his every day crapolla. And yes, him heading to court is every day crapolla now.

NOW that HE needs one – he believes in second chances. No second chances for the VICKTIMS at Bad Newz Kennels while they were dependent on Vick for their safety and well-being.

Part of his probation is to dress up like that rabbit thing and try to stay ahead of the greyhounds.
He was just trying to get into character in the bar the other day.
