Jerry Jones says Roy Williams will be back “real quick”

Though Cowboys trainers initially believed that receiver Roy Williams had suffered a broken collarbone, the team ended up dodging a major bullet.

Williams officially has a contusion of the shoulder.

Though it’s unclear when he’ll be back, owner Jerry Jones strongly hinted that Williams will be ready to go by Week One.

“I’m not implying that we have a long-winded thing here,” Jones said during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan. “Based on our review here, we’re talking about a very short time span. I don’t know that he’ll go Saturday . . . but he’ll be out there real quick.”

Williams injured the shoulder when colliding with cornerback Orlando Scandrick while the players were practicing without shoulder pads. After the incident, Williams told multiple players that he believed he had a broken collarbone, something that the initial evaluation of Williams corroborated.
