Rams-Bengals one-liners

The Rams defense forced four turnovers, leading to 17 points.

Rams QB Kyle Boller slid too late on one scramble and lost his helmet on a hit by Bengals LB Keith Rivers, but recovered enough to complete two passes on a touchdown drive.

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo was unhappy that his team was flagged for 10 penalties, the same amount they had in the first two games combined.

Jonathan Wade split time with Tye Hill at right cornerback in the Rams’ first-team defense.

The Rams moved Chris Long all around the defense, featuring him at left and right defensive end as well as at linebacker.

Said Bengals coach Marvin Lewis, “Obviously you can’t have turnovers like we had. That was still our Achilles heel in the first half as it
has been for too much of this preseason. We can’t allow that to
continue.”

Bengals KR Quan Cosby took a punt back 49 yards for a touchdown and Tom Nelson returned one 44 yards, a welcome change for a team that hasn’t had a 40-yard-plus return since 2004.

A car fire in the parking lot during the first half provided a proper backdrop for a Bengals defense getting torched by the Rams.

Bengals QB J.T. O’Sullivan had two passes knocked down at the line, fumbled and was sacked three times.

Bengals WR Chris Henry caught a 54-yard touchdown from Jordan Palmer to give him scores in all three preseason games.

“bengal’s D getting torched…” What a stupid and false statement. In the first half the bengals D looked good, the offense fumbled and it was ran back for a TD. The offense then fumbled within the 20 yard line which led to a TD. Facts.

Agreed. They coulda played A LOT better, but they weren’t necessarily torched. They did give up a 70 some yard TD drive on the Rams 3rd series, but settled down after that. The offense put our D in poor field position, but they didn’t do bad. Matter of fact 17 of their 24 points came off of Bengals turnovers, including a fumble return for a TD, and an interception going almost all the way back. On the night we held them to 240 yards, and under 4 yards per carry.

Spoken like Bengals fans. Err. Spoken like UPSET Bengal fans because they got torched by the Rams.

LighTsouT, put down the Romey mic and wake the f up. Yes the Rams won. And yes the Bengals gave the game away with turnovers.
You got a huge PS win. Congrats! Although we didn’t start Palmer. So you beat our back up QBs.
And until the Rams move back to LA, there’s no chance they’ll ever be better than the Bengals, as the turf show is long gone to the desert. So enjoy your hollow win, as likely the last in a very long while.
