Eagles offensive lineman’s Shawn Andrews’ long, somewhat mysterious absence from practice is finally over.
Perhaps the key to Philadelphia’s rebuilt offensive line, Andrews has essentially been missing in action since late July when his back injuries flared up again. The team and Andrews has disagreed somewhat about his return, but Andrews clearly finally feels comfortable enough again to practice.
With two weeks to go before the regular season opener, the question will now become whether Andrews can get up to speed fast enough to start at right tackle in Week One. If not, Winston Justice will get the call.
And despite the improved reviews Justice has received during camp, surely Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid will feel more comfortable if Andrews is able to play.
Father of the Year Andy Reid got a call from Tony Dungheap again: “give Big Baby Andrews a 6th chance, fat Andy. I just called the Great Enabler, Jeff Lurie, to say the same thing.”
Holy Crap!!!–How did they know it was Shawn Andrews?…Did they identify him by his breast implant serial numbers??
He was really out searching for anyone who would watch TOs show.
The search proved futile!
Wow. An entry about the Eagles that doesn’t have a shot about McNabb or how the season is going to end horribly!
You sick today?
Thank you Mr Rosenthal for a sane fact based Eagles post. You must be new at NBC.
Wouldn’t a different tackle throw off McNabb’s all important rhythm?
Who’s Shawn Andrews?
This is good for the Eagles because Jason Peters got mugged by the Jags on Thursday. What do you think Uminyura and Ware are going to do to him if he can’t stand up to the Jags? This, the line that was crowned all league without playing a down, looks very shaky. Now the wacko Andrews is back to supposedly save the day.
Mr. Rosenthal: you haven’t been paying attention. You should’ve changed the wording around to say that Justice is pissed off that Andrews is being welcomed back. Justice has been at camp and preseason games, busting his tail and they just up and “give” it to Andrews?!?
I have a feeling that he is more emotional than your article is letting on. My sources say he is real “sore” at the Front office….
Just like the A-Team, I love it when a plan comes together! And the Eagles’ plan is coming together…..be very afraid!
Post more shit about Brady, the comments make for far better reading.
