Well, we know Tom Brady's knee is fine

Shocker: Bill Belichick had “nothing really to add” regarding Tom Brady’s sore shoulder in comments to reporters Saturday.

Genuinely newsworthy: Belichick said that it was a “football decision” not to play Brady in the second half because they wanted to look at his backups, rather than a move necessitated by injury.

“Tom had a desire to play, but we made a football decision to play other
players because I think we need to see them at that position, and make
an evaluation there. That’s what I’m saying,” Belichick told reporters.

The Boston Globe has audio of the conversation,
but we probably won’t learn much more until the Patriots practice
Monday.  If Brady is practicing fully, the concern will evaporate.

Asked if Brady required x-rays, Belichick said he wasn’t “comfortable getting into a public diagnosis of anything.”

That’s not the case with Dr. Neal ElAttrache, the man who reconstructed Brady’s knee.  Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times reached ElAttrache, who didn’t want to comment too much on the state of Brady’s shoulder, despite talking with his patient Friday evening.

“The good signs were that he was moving it right afterwards,” the doctor said.  “No one had to do any sort of maneuver or manipulation to help his
should feel better, which would indicate there was no dislocation or
anything like that. But really the next day and further tests tell the
story.”

ElAttrache was more comfortable talking about the state of Brady’s knee, which amazingly hasn’t been that huge a story this preseason.

“I know how his knee feels not only to me but to him,”
ElAttrache said.  “All those things are
extremely reassuring, and I couldn’t be happier about that.”

Brady has generally stepped into the face of the pass rush well, and was confident enough in the knee to call a running play for himself in his first game back.

Now all eyes will be on a different possible injury on Brady, which is oddly a small victory for Brady and his recovery from torn ligaments in his knee.

Well that’s a Pyrrhic victory if I’ve ever heard of one.

I’m sorry to inform you Gregg, but your way off on this one. Tom Brady has been throwing all arm and at times its worked, but not very often. On several throws that he attempted to step into, he lifts his front leg the very end of this release. He’s still not mentally convinced his knee is 100% so he cant fully step into a throw transferring all of his weight properly. Watch his game tape and watch his front leg lift off the ground just as he releases the ball.

I think all the the media boys salivating over their brady god are going are gonna be in for a rude awakening. An aging line that gave up 40 plus sacks last season combined with a reconstructed knee equalls big problems.

I wouldn’t believe Belichick if he said he pissed standing up.

Who cares? Face it, the NE Patriots are the single most disgraced franchise in all of recorded sports history, and that includes the 1919 Chicago White Sox. Why? Because in 1919 only a handful of players were involved. In 2007 the entire Pats organization was involved – from the owner on down. The cheerleaders were probably wired on the sidelines behind the opposing teams bench for all we know. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit. ..Scumbags.
    Break a leg Tom.
    Literally.

Their aging line = average age of starters 29.8
Might want to pick a different drum to beat.

Well your name describes it the most Florios, you are a tool, everyone and their grandma did the same thing just that the Patriots caught the heat which is fine because 3 superbowls and a perfect regular season is all i care about.
If Brady wins one more title he’ll be the best of all time, I welcome the debating :)

Awww well this really is sad news isn’t it! And here all you people who cheer for terrible football teams thought you might have a chance this year. Well the season hasn’t even started yet so there’s still hope !
I guess the haters will have to start making things up about an “aging O-line” or declaring that that they have seen Brady doing something on game tape (its amazing how when you want to see something it magically appears, lol)
You see, aging O-line is hater talk to counter the fact that the line has been together a few years now. Most people would consider O-line continuity a positive thing…but if it’s the Patriots they are old.
Another example, someone was talking about all the sacks that the line gave up last year. Of course, they were without Stephen Neal, one of their best (but sadly often injured) O linemen for the first six-weeks when he was on PuP. When he came back suddenly the line looked a lot better. Also you don’t think some of those sacks might have been Matt Cassell’s fault while he adjusted to game speed the first few weeks of the season. No.. It was the aging o-line. Oh, and by the way, Stephen Neal was also injured in the first quarter of the SB loss to the giants… I guess you guys should start hoping for him to get injured, then the likelihood of Brady getting hurt goes up.
As for the most disgraced franchise? I guess you could look at it that way. I mean they are always singled out as a model sports franchise, many many players want to play there, most of the media allegedly sucks up to the Patriots.. But some jealous fans consider them disgraced. I’d be worried about what the other teams fans thought if I didn’t have so many lombardi trophies to look at.
If I could only find my camera to take a picture of them…but alas I lent it to the “aging” o-line.

It’s hard enough to operate a camera capable of stealing defensive signals with a sore shoulder, let alone a sore shoulder AND a bad knee.
    Get well soon, Tom!

If Brady wins one more he’ll have won exactly as many as Bradshaw and Montana. Bradshaw, Montana and Ailman never lost one so there are three quarterbacks who have done what he’s done, two who have won more than he has. He needs to win two more to have the record and that’s not gonna happen, he’ll be lucky to win one more. Perfect season? You mean the one that they lost the SuperBowl in? Laughable. The Steelers have won two SB’s in the last four years so they’re the best organization in the NFL right now. If they win it this year, the Pats don’t even get team of the decade…. (and I hate the Steelers).

newsflash: John Madden retired… all he ever did was profess his man-love for Tom Brady and Brett Favre, no matter who was on the field. Uh-oh, he’s gone now. If you’re lucky, maybe he’ll un-retire too.
“… But some jealous fans consider them disgraced…”
As do all of the non-jealous fans as well. (Note: why would anyone be jealous of despised, cheating scumbags?)
“…I’d be worried about what the other teams fans thought if I didn’t have so many lombardi trophies to look at. ..”
So many? As in 3? As in all won by Adam Vinatieri? Like the one he won after you cut him?
Like the none you’ve won since you’ve cut him?
Some dynasty. 3 SB’s, all by a freakin’ field goal, with the cameras rollin’. Yeah boy, you guys sure showed them.

    ———–
Dude, is that the best you can do. They haven’t won a SB in 5 years? Maybe you should get a tissue because any time my team is competitive I’m happy. In the last 10 years they have won three, gone to another and also been to an AFC championship. That means that 50% of the time in the last 10 years the Patriots have been in the big game or been one game away.
And for the record here’s a list of teams that have waited longer than 5 years since their last SB.
    Dolphins
    Jets
    Bills
    Ravens
    Browns
    Bengals
    Titans
    Texans
    Jags
    Raiders
    Chargers
    Broncos
    Chiefs
    Cowboys
    Redskins
    Eagles
    Packers
    Vikings
    Bears
    Lions
    Saints
    Falcons
    Bucs
    Panthers
    49ers
    Seahawks
    Rams
    Cardinals
I bet the rational fans of these teams would love to have won a SB in the last five years. Heck the fans of some of these teams would love to have appeared in a super bowl (ever, not just in last 5 years)
So if that’s the best you can do, you might want to think over your strategy. I mean on Feb 12th are you going to be saying “the patriots haven’t won a super bowl in 5 days?”
I watch football for the here and now. Sure it’s great throwing on a DVD in the offseason to relive past glories, but I watch football for the feeling. You know, that feeling when an impact play happens, to see the biggest and fastest men in the world competing over inches on a grass field. And the bottom line is this year the New England Patriots are going to be competitive even if they don’t win it all.
And I got to experience that every year this decade and for a few years to come.
You get to look forward to writing messages about the Patriots not winning the super bowl on PFT.com…that is until they win another.
And then it will be back to the “cheating” or whatever. Word of advice, cheating is a lot more credible than “5 years” as an attack. The problem is none of us Patriots fans care about either.
I just post on here to p/o the cry babies.

I don’t know if that’s the best I can do, but it seemed to work for its intended audience. I managed to generate about a thousand wounded and defensive words out of your candy ass with 2 sentences.

mrmagoo, how come most of you Steelers fans sound like SixBurghDude?
Maybe it’s the water in each region who knows. I do remember Steelers fans talking crap before they won in 05 and it was what almost 30 years since their last title until then? Who cares every team has fans that think their team is the balls, which is why they are more than likely fans of said team to begin with.
Anyway, here’s looking to a great season and nothing would be better than to match up against the Steelers in the playoffs this year. That will be a game for the ages.
