Brady "expecting" to play in opener

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, pancaked Friday night by Washington’s Albert Haynesworth, said he should be good to go for the September 14 opener against Buffalo.

During his weekly call-in to Boston radio station WEEI, Brady was asked if he thought he’d be ready for the Bills.

“I certainly am expecting to [play],” he said.  “A lot of players have bumps and bruises.  I’m expecting to play this week if coach lets me.  Anyone that plays this game needs to be ready to play at less than 100 percent of perfect.”

With the Broncos adopting “extremities” as the new injury buzz word of choice, “bumps and bruises” seems to be the preferred approach in New England for indicating that a guy has an injury.

And implicit in Brady’s comments is that he indeed is injured, and that he possibly will be “less than 100 percent of perfect” two weeks from tonight.

The guy hasn’t played more than a quarter of meaningful football in 19 months. Unless he is laying in a hospital bed somewhere, he will be playing.

Lets not go overboard here Tom, if I’m not mistaken Tom Brady has been on the injured list since about 2 minutes after he replaced Bledsoe.

Umm, I read the same article, and saw what he said. There is nothing to his “injury” stated except that he is sore, like everyone else. He said he expects to play and will do what the coach tells him to do. Nothing to indicate that he is injured or will not be 100% on opening day.

florio, back off guy. you get so worked up about injuries. relax guy, the pats hide them, the steelers hide them, the broncos hide them, they ALL HIDE THEM. the only people who care are gamblers. let it go.

Well after a 19 month hiatus we’ll see “Probable – Shoulder” again.
I certainly held my breath the other night when that big fattie landed on Brady. I’ve seen enough, and he’s ready no need to send him out against the Giants on Thursday.
Get that arm loose TB and lets get ready to roll in a couple of weeks.

Haynesworth: “What would you like with your pancakes, sir?”
Brady: “How about a side order of cleats with those?”
Haynesworth: “Sorry, we’re all out of those.”
Brady: “That’s okay, I’ll settle for a sock.”
Haynesworth: “How would you like those socks, sir?”
Brady: “I’ll take ‘em on the face, of course.”

You got a gerbil shout out.
Man, you guys are hard to please.

The gerbil thing is just an attempt to be funny (it does fail which is why I don’t comment on it).
The haters actually think the patriots invented trying to get a competitive advantage over the other team. When we all know they were the only ones to get caught or punished publicly.
