Bulger back at practice

Rams quarterback Marc Bulger, down to his last chance in St. Louis, has returned to practice after breaking a finger earlier in the month.

Per the Associated Press, Bulger threw 21 passes in a side session on Sunday, under the supervision of quarterbacks coach Dick Curl, who might or might not have been in the bidding for Onterrio Smith’s Whizzinator.

Coach Steve Spagnuolo said that it’s not yet known whether Bulger will play in Thursday’s preseason finale.

“It all depends on where he is,” Spagnuolo said. “You’d like to build for Thursday, but if he’s not ready to we’re not going to.”

The fracture occurred while Bulger was receiving a snap from center Jason Brown. It didn’t show up on x-rays, and a cast wasn’t required.

Kyle Boller has been running the first-team offense in Bulger’s absence.

Seriously.

Maybe the Rams are trying to have the second overall draft pick for three years in a row.
