Chargers lose rookie corner to “significant” knee injury

Chargers cornerback Brandon Hughes, a fifth-round draft pick from Oregon State, went down in practice Monday with a knee injury.

Per Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, coach Norv Turner says that it’s a “significant” injury, and that Hughes will be out for “a while.”

Turner said that he’ll be keeping an eye on the waiver wire for other possible cornerbacks.
