I do not have any “Packer bias”. I sure as hell like the Packers, but I’ve already admitted in several threads that AP is the best back currently in the league, that Jared Allen is a top 5 DE, that our season last year was a travesty, and that I feel Chicago will take the division this year.
What is it with all Cowboys, Vikings (and Red Sox) fans thinking everyone in the country is just as insane as they are? We’re not. We have a grip on reality. We’re not such blind homers that we can’t admit there are, in fact, better teams in the league then our own.
You will NEVER hear a Packer or Bear fan claim they’re going to the Superbowl before the season starts, (let alone in APRIL like the Viking faithful) even if they are, in fact, going to the Super Bowl that year.
We are diehard fans, but we’re still rational, normal human beings. You are something else entirely.

I find it funny that all the Packers fans are up in arms over their team. Why? Did they get a great free agent? How about a good draft pick (Raji and Matthews are going to be subpar this season)? Switching a defense. And they are doing good in the preseason. I give them some kudos, but it is just the preseason. The Vikings, for the first time in three years, had a quarterback who knew what to do and could score points if needed. Last year the Vikes took the Division with Freotte and T-Jax. Favre and Harvin are an upgrade.

The reason people are saying it is solid is because you Packer jagoffs were predicting gloom and doom on the “cracked rib” thread, also predicting a train wreck etc. ad infinitum.

Bob, you’re being about as stupid as Walters now.
Jackson was never called out for his lack of motivation, and in fact over the last few years he’s been nothing but praised for his dedication. Of course, you’d have to reach outside the blinders of PFT to see that, but you wouldn’t be able to bash on the story in the comments, so I guess that’s out of the question. The story that you’re referencing is from Pat Williams, simply stating that Jackson needs to keep working and putting in more time. Florio made the assumption that Pat was saying that Jackson isn’t working hard enough and even though it was later debunked by Pat himself, Florio never bothered to write about it.
The reason people like Jackson is his motivation, his want to improve, and the fact that he’s a good kid.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the head to be a starting QB in the NFL. I’m assuming that’s what you were attempting to say with the wonderlic comment. He is, though, a good backup. When he’s able to come into the game unexpected, he does well, because he’s just playing, not letting his mind get in the way of meeting expectations.

You have no clue if they have a contingency plan or not, from your posts, you seem to come across as someone who thinks they know more than the rest of us. Let me give it to you chapter and verse: you don’t.
You have no clue what goes on in any orginization. Neither do I. You may hope things, but that’s about it.
That “Contingency” , if he isn’t on the roster, isn’t going to do a whole lot of good, it’ll take 2-4 weeks to learn the play calling.

when Rodgers gets hurt Ragnar? He played through a seperated throwing shoulder at a near pro bowl level. Favre never did that. Matt Flynn would do just fine until they brough in a vet depending upon where they are in the standings. If they are 9-1 and something happens to Rodgers (which you say is a matter of when) you can bet your ass they will bring in the best QB available. Teams have plans for these kinds of things. They arent going to risk their season based upon whether or not one player gets hurt. The have Flynn and Brohm to develop. There is a reason why they are on the roster. Now, there is also a contingency in place that probably does nto involve either of those two if Aaron were to go down mid season. The exception would be if the team were out of contention. Then theyd let Flynn play. Not everything is on the surface for us average fans to know about.

Charlie Walters hasn’t written an accurate article in 5 years — they’re all based on speculation.
Favre was just okay, nothing to pop a chubbie over. The economics favor a T-Jack trade, although I can’t imagine the Vikes agreeing to trade him within the NFC North, even if his crappy play would probably benefit the Vikes.
And the road and bridges down the road ain’t any more certain for the Bears than the Vikes, particularly given the Bears back-up QB situation and the health of its secondary. Wasn’t it the Bears, not the Vikes, whose sunny train ride crashed over the cliff at the end of last season?
