There was a chance Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer would play in the team's preseason finale, despite a sprained ankle.
And it was only a chance.
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Palmer won't play Thursday night when the Bengals host the Colts.
But Schefter says Palmer will play in the regular-season opener.
Just like Chad Ochocinco told us on Sunday night.
Carson Palmer will be ready for Week One

You know your sites about to come crashing into mediocracy when Chad "Esteban, the Black Mexican Kicker" OchoCinco is your informant...
Here is my stab at being an NFL "insider" informant.
Any injured starters on any team will sit out the last pre-season game.
"Mediocracy" isn't a word. Mediocrity is the correct word. Thanks, though.
I understand the need to protect Palmer. Like I read on CincyJungle, you don't want some enterprising 3rd stringer to smash into Palmer so he can secure his roster spot.
But if Palmer doesn't get some reps in during game conditions (albeit against 3rd stringers), then I have a feeling he'll be just a little rusty coming in Game 1, which Cincy needs to win. They should play him for a series or two.

LOL beat me to the punch... Love me some bushisms..
He will be fine he was threading the needle in game 1 cept for 1 pic and looked sharp in passes this week with long bombs to Henry and Chad.....if Denver thinks they have an advantage their about to get that a-- tapped!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Week 3 as fans thats where we will show the NFL that this aint the same team from 2008.
And the Bengals will still finish 3rd in the AFC North.
