The Detroit Lions continue to raid the trash bins of other NFL teams, using their top priority on the waiver list liberally.
On Tuesday, the Lions plucked former Patriots quarterback Kevin O’Connell, if for no reason other than to have the warm bodies at the position for the final preseason game.
Now, the Lions have pounced on former Chargers and Texans cornerback Cletis Gordon, according to Tom Kowalski of Mlive.com.
(And, yeah, we probably are fascinated with Cletis Gordon because he shares a first name with one of our favorite characters on The Simpsons.)
The Lions made space for Gordon by cutting cornerback Keith Smith.

So Kevin Smith has been moved to CB and cut. Not a great move. Seems strange, in fact, first the move from rb and then cutting him. He seemed like a really sound player.
The Lions are now unstoppable. Will the madness ever end. Give them the Lombardi now….the rest of the league is now too weak. If they had aquired Favre before the Vikings the next 20 years would be for not. Actually I pretty sure I’m joking:)

They cut CB Keith Smith, not RB Kevin Smith.

Afterall, James Harrison has been cut three times. Twice by the Steelers, and once by the Ravens.
