Fred Jackson plans to play tonight

The fourth preseason week is largely a snoozefest, filled with players that won’t be employed 48 hours later.

One starter that wants to get on the field Thursday night is Bills running back Fred Jackson, who is recovering from a wrist injury.

“It’s something that I want to do so we’ll see what happens,” Jackson said.

Usually a backup, Jackson will start Buffalo’s first three games at running back, while Marshawn Lynch serves his suspension.  Jackson hurt his thumb/wrist more than a week ago, but clearly his status for Week One is not in doubt.

That’s good news for all the fantasy leaguers who drafted Jackson as a backup to Lynch.  And it’s bad news for the Patriots, who gave up 136 hard-earned rushing yards to Jackson in Week Seventeen last year.
