The main goal of the fourth preseason game is to avoid serious injuries. It appears Jacksonville’s Maurice Jones-Drew will reach that goal, but not before scaring the team.
Jones-Drew left for the locker room after Redskins cornerback Fred Smoot tackled him on a short reception. The team is calling it a “bruised right leg” (riiiiight), but the Associated Press on hand says the injury “doesn’t appear serious.”
Even if the injury is minor, it raises a question fantasy leaguers have been asking all offseason: Who is Jones-Drew’s backup? If this article is any indication, fullback Greg Jones would probably get the most carries in Mo-Jo’s absence.
Those fantasy owners that took him in the top 3 are warned to stay away from tall buildings.
