A stupid mistake by the NFL.
Uh, yeah you might want to check with a Head Coach or two before you arbitrarily assign a minimum height for a scoreboard in the middle of the field?

Filming defensive signals? Very, very classy.
And it’s okay to mock Vick for killing dogs, because the dead dogs don’t matter, but it’s not okay to mock Jerry Jones for paralyzing his employee by his own cheapness and negligence? That’s insulting the poor man!

“Fiasco?” One punt has hit the thing. One. And we’re talking about a freakin’ punt. Worst case scenario some professional football players have to run down the field again. Yes, NFL punters are capable of hitting it. No, they won’t hit every play or even most plays.
Jerry Jones can’t build a football team to save his life but he sure as hell can build a stadium. Here in Texas, football is king. We have high school stadiums that put other states’ college stadiums to shame. Give Jones credit, he built a great stadium for one of the NFL’s great franchises. This is the home they deserve. All this pissing and moaning over the video board smells like another case of east coast envy.

Oh please. I know quite a bit about rigging and if they can fly the damn thing at one height, while raising it will change the angles of stress, it is very unlikely that it will do so by enough so that it is not safe.
If the safety margin was so small at the design height that they couldn’t move it a few feet without damaging the building or having it come down they were criminally negligent in the first place.
And they are already moving it up for the U2 concert to fit that ungodly ugly beast of a set and moving it back down afterwards. Clearly it is safe at a higher height above the field.

As an architect I can tell you the Issue is pretty straight forward. Jerry Jones believes that he took the proper avenues by having the NFL rules comittee verify the design. If they are now telling him he needs to change a design they previously approved they are going to have to pay for the change order.

haha, fans that ditch the team for another at the first sign of adversity are not valuable. The Cowboys haven’t won a playoff game in well over 10 years but there are still more Cowboys fans than all other fans put together. That’s hardcore loyalty. The numbers don’t lie. You’ll change teams as often as you change your socks but Cowboy fans are Cowboy fans forever.
So, blind loyalty to a team is something you’re proud of? That’s dumb, even for somebody from Texas.

What “numbers” do you have? I’ve never seen any official “numbers” and anything that I’ve seen related to the topic of fan base usually have the Steelers or the Packers at the top of the list.
I will give Cowboy fans credit for being the most obnoxious fans in the country, though. With Raiders fans a close 2nd. Congrats on that.

The lowest point on the OLD video screen at the Superdome was 90 feet high. Ray Guy hit it back in the 70′s. If 90 feet was not high enough back then why should it be high enough now? The screen in Dallas is at 90 feet. Are all things bigger in Texas? When is a foot not 12 inches? Such as, that there is 12 inches, when it is really only 4. Never mind…….
