Rosenthal mentioned last night that Saints tight end Billy Miller was carted off the field during Thursday night’s game against the Dolphins.
And Rosenthal pointed out that it didn’t look good for Miller.
And it isn’t good for Miller.
According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Miller has a torn Achilles’ tendon, and he’s out for the year.
G.M. Mickey Loomis said Friday that the team might be signing another tight end over the weekend.

Any free agents left out there? Miller had great moments for sure. Shockey better not turn into the usual china doll. WHO DAT!!!!
Leonard Pope, book a flight to N’Awlins…..
A Poem (#4)

Poor injured Billy Miller, out of USC
He’s out for the year, how can this be?
Catching passes from Drew Brees, intermediate & short
While Dan Campbell was out much of last year, Miller held court
But Dan the Man, the grizzled vet is back
To once again lend a hand in the passing attack
Jeremy Shockey starting, catching balls & whining are his motto
He may be dehydrated tonight as we speak, he may be blotto
There’s also ex-Falcon Martrez Milner & a Buck Ortega
But neither leaves the coaching staff feeling “mega”
Leonard Pope was released today by the Cards
A 6’8″ behemoth cut this quick makes the decision hard
Their passing game won’t suffer with Brees & all the wideout talent
Their armor won’t be chinked, not even a dent
But one thing you must remember, because the truth I always dole
The Saints will lose twice to the Falcons in 2009, on Atlanta’s way to the Super Bowl!
So this is what Falcon fans do?
This is what one Falcon fan does, when so inspired. Next up: The Carolina Panthers!
I think the Saints and Falcons split. But I must say I loved the poem. I was laughing for sure.
How can the Falcons & Saints split if the Falcons are going 16-0?
