In August, Titans return specialist Mark Jones said that the position of punt returner was his to lose.
And he lost it.
In a move that could mean rookie receiver Kenny Britt will finally get his wish to return punts, the Titans have released Jones.
According to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, the Titans have informed Jones and “several other players” of their impending release.
“He was released this morning,” agent Brian Levy said regarding Jones. “A bit surprising.”
He joined the Titans in the offseason via a two-year deal with a $200,000 signing bonus.
Per Wyatt, offensive lineman Jason Murphy and receiver Phillip Morris has been told that they’ll soon be joining Jones as former Titans.
I also heard Phillip Morris say he needed a smoke after the game….lol
I heard Phillip Morris wanted a smoke after the game! LOL
The Panthers will grab him in a matter of hours.
YAWN…
Rumor has it that phillip morris wants a smoke after the game. LOL
Should I make a lame Joke about Phillip Morris’ name?
Naw, I guess not. It’s seems to have been done to death.
Maybe they give Britt a chance returning punts & I figure they either go with Ringer on kickoffs or look at the roster cuts and sign another kick returner.
Jones probably would have won the returner job had he not got injured.
I think the Titans sign at least 1 WR & 1 DB… maybe more than 1 of each.
