Dunta Robinson reporting to Texans

Cornerback Dunta Robinson, slapped with the franchise tag in February but to date unsigned, plans to sign his one-year offer and report to the team on Sunday, according to the Houston Chronicle.

“I’ve been working hard, and I’m ready to go,” Robinson said.  “I
don’t know what they’ll have me do tomorrow, but I think they will
mostly look to see where I’m at physically.

“But I’ll be on the field for the next practice.”

Since he signed before Week One, Robinson will make the full amount of his $9.957 million salary, and he will be subjected to no fines because he was not under contract during his holdout.

As much as I love taking a players side on contract disputes(and I’m a business owner, go figure! then again, my employees are waaaay overpaid, D’OH!) this was a stupid move. It’ll take Dunta (what a stupid name) ’till week 4-5 to get into game shape. This will bring his stats down, which in turn will bring his payday down next year.
Also he is another example that owners know they can get their guys to sign eventually(aside from crabtree, but he’s a jackass) so he brings down the leverage of all future franchise-tagged players.
NO ONE WINS! He should have signed after game 2 of the preseason so he makes his point, and still gets 3 weeks to get ready for the season. Stupid, stupid move Daunte(I took the initiative to fix the typo on his birth certificate). You just cost yourself $5-10 million.
PS. With all these roster cuts today, the UFL should be getting a giganting infusion of talented, but not talented enough, football players. Over 700 guys who will come asking me for a job tomorrow. Maybe they should have added a few more teams…
PSS(PPS?): Aaron Francisco, you are more than welcome to be my bouncer for unruly customers/drycleaning magnate groupies. Just make sure you tackle them like you did BEFORE you got your contract and you got lazy/complacent. See you at 7 am Tuesday mornin’, Franny!
