When middle linebacker Stewart Bradley was lost for the season, the Eagles went right after former San Diego linebacker Matt Wilhelm, signing him August 4.
Wilhelm lasted just a month with the Eagles, as he was one of the players lopped off this afternoon.
Also released by Philly were: wideout Danny Amendola, running back Lorenzo Booker, linebacker Tank Daniels, fullback Kyle Eckel, guard Paul Fanaika, defensive end Josh Gaines, guard Mike Gibson, corner Jack Ikegwuono, defensive tackle Dan Klecko, safety Reshard Langford, fullback Marcus Mailei, tight end Rob Myers, guard Dallas Reynolds, tight end Matt Schobel, defensive end Bryan Smith and corner Trae Williams.
The team also placed tackle Fenuki Tupuo on injured reserve with a bad chest. As mentioned earlier, have put quarterback Michael Vick on the exempt list pending him becoming eligible in Week 3.
