Eagles use exemption to keep Vick off 53

With Michael Vick not eligible to play until Week 3, the Eagles will use a roster exemption on him so that he doesn’t count against their 53-man roster, Jason LaCanfora of NFL.com reports.

That move makes sense at this time since it allows the Eagles to keep an extra player until Vick is reinstated.

Vick is not allowed to practice with the team but is allowed to attend meetings and work out at the facility. At this point, it appears the Eagles will keep A.J. Feeley on the roster along with backup Kevin Kolb and starter Donovan McNabb. By holding on to Feeley now instead of cutting him, they’ll be able to get something in return for him in the first two weeks if a quarterback goes down somewhere else.

If they can’t move Feeley between now and Week 3, it would seem reasonable to expect he’ll be released then.

I wonder if it’s not Vick who will be cut. Or traded.

    Preseason stats:
    Passing
    19 plays : 11/15 : 45 yards : 0 td : 1 int : 4 sacks : -40 yards lost
    47.9 rating : 19 plays : 5 net yards
    Rushing
    8 rushes : 36 yards : 1 td : 2 fumbles : 1 lost fumble
    Total Offense
    27 plays : 41 yards : 1 td : 2 turnovers
No reason to keep Vick on the team judging by his preseason performance.
Especially considering he was playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers.

They should dump Vick and go get Garcia. He had his best year in Philly.

Funny how Vick’s defenders are not out in force since his play has been mediocre.
Apparently his lying and laziness reported here is still pretty much the same. He stayed 20 minutes after his first practice, a whole 20 minutes.

His passing plays have been fairly simple swing passes for the most part. Same qb that played in Atlanta only slower, 1-2 check offs and run. He is still somewhat elusive, just not fast enough for it to make a difference.
Looked like a deer frozen in headlights when blitzed by Jets. Specially that play where #54 Kenwin Cummings slammed him to the ground. Probably payback for when Vick escaped him earlier.

Considering that a whole three hours passed from the posting of this and your comment, and there were no real trollish comments until yours?
    Not so funny.
Vick looked bad on Thursday night, except when he scored that TD in the Wildcat. Good thing he’s going to be a 10-12 snap Wildcat player.
They see him playin’, they hatin’….

We knew he was a poor excuse for a human being. Now we are seeing that he is a poor excuse for a player. Time to crawl back under the rock you crawled out of Vick!
