Ganther among Titans final cuts as Chris Henry makes team

The Titans got a head start on their cuts Friday, trimming 19 players from the roster.

They finished off their dirty work Saturday afternoon by dropping linebacker Ryan Fowler, running back Quinton Ganther, and defensive end Larry Birdine.  Ganther was waived/injured.

Ganther’s removal means that 2007 second-round pick Chris Henry made the team as a fourth running back, despite nearly all forecasts coming out of Tennessee.

Fowler was once the starting middle linebacker in Tennessee, but lost the gig to Stephen Tulloch.

I think the bonus the Titans reportedly owe Henry had something to do with him staying. I read someplace that Henry gets something like $420,000 this year whether he is on the roster or not.
I find it hard to believe that this is the final roster. Maybe for the Steeler game, but like I’ve said before I figure Tennessee needs to get 1 more WR and 1 more DB…
